I don't remember how the Avalanche got Forsberg. He was great too. His career was cut short because of his foot injuries. Was he the player that the Flyers traded away for Lindros?

Come to think of it, Wendell Clark, the player Sundin was traded for, was also denied the Cup, because he was traded again to the Islanders before the Nordiques moved to Colorado. That's pretty wierd.

Peter forsberg should thank eric lindros. I am surprise foresberg never played for the flyers given his talents.

What I remember about Lindros on the Leafs is that he played pretty well during the part of the season when Sundin was injured. But it didn't really last very long because he ended up getting injured himself.

Yes. I just read the article from Pension Plan Puppets on One Hit Wonders. Allison was mentioned. He scored 60 points in 66 games that one season with the Leafs. Then after that, he never played in the NHL again.

It makes you wonder why there is a long list of players that played only one season with the Leafs, and played so well for them.

with what money? the leafs already have tons of salary issue, and then its a 50/50 chance with him , if he performs like he did on Chicago, the Leafs got a steal.........if not, half the city is going to be like "why did management spend all this money on this kind of player with so much baggage" etc etc. you cant do anything right in leafs land

Yeah, I think you're right. On the power play, you don't need the skating speed as 5 on 5. So, he probably got most of his points on the PP. Whenever McCabe and Kaberle teamed up, it was the most deadly PP in the league.

I was mad as hell when they traded away McCabe. They got nothing in return.

They'll have tons of money to spend on Byfuglien next season. They're going to let Ceci and Barrie walk on July 1st. That's over 5 million right there. There's no way Byfuglien is going to look for over 5 million. Like you said, he's past his prime. But he's got a Stanley Cup on his resume, and he can teach those kids how to win. I think the Leafs would be stupid not to sign him.

will the salary cap go down given the season was cut short due to covid 19. This translate to decrease in revenue. Byfuglien is a big gamble given his age and he hasn't played a game over a year.
