The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has conducted a search at a massage parlor on North Division Street, uncovering potential human trafficking activities. Deputies identified two women as victims, while no arrests have been made thus far.
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Thursday morning at a massage parlor on North Division Street that is allegedly connected to a human trafficking operation and other potential crimes.
According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, deputies served the warrant around 9 a.m. at Restorative Touch, a business offering therapeutic massage and reflexology services.
Deputies said they encountered a woman at the location who had a language barrier. They reported she was not malnourished but had been living inside the business. deputies said that two women were identified as human trafficking victims. The victims’ citizenship status has not yet been confirmed, according to deputies.
No arrests have been made, and investigators said that this operation is part of multiple ongoing human trafficking investigations.
NonStop Local KHQ crews on scene reported that neighboring business owners were not surprised by the bust. According to one nearby business, Homeland Security investigators previously asked to use a vacant unit adjacent to the massage parlor to conduct surveillance.
