James i agree with most of what you say but to say Czechs dont like foreigners is total bullshit. I have lived here 6 years, most of my friends are Cz and i always find strangers friendly towards me and other non Czechs. Ask most girls who they prefer for boyfriends and the Brits and Americans are much further up the list than Czech guys. What Czechs dont like is the arogant toursits, drunk Brits and flashy twats who wave money around and act like they know it all. You cant blame them for that. Act with respect and your will receive the same back.

Ah, Euro. That's a great synopsis. I had to laugh about the dog shit, it's so true. It's absolutely everywhere. And yes, the police were of no help when I asked for simple directions. Other than that, Prague was great. My Czech friends can't wait to move back there, and I can't wait to return for a visit.

I'm seriously considering packing up all my stuff and moving to Prague next week for at least a few years. I have a couple of grand sterling which is 4 months average income (maybe a little more than) of a local. Just wondering if there are many job opportunities for English speakers who don't speak Czech? I've seen DHL advertising a ton for their Prague call centre for English speakers but have seen no mention of pay. On the English expats site they had some listed at around
