Sincere Holistic Centre. From an ad in a local paper, it is located in a small strip plaza on the second floor, unit 2, at 1646 Victoria Park Avenue, between Eglinton and Lawrence. The phone number is 416-615-0088. This is a fairly new establishment (maybe one year old), and I believe it is licensed. There are at least two ladies working there, both in their thirties. The rooms themselves are clean but sparse, and there is a common washroom that also doubles as a laundry room. The prices are standard ($40 for half an hour etc.). I have been there a couple of times to try both ladies. The massages were only fair, and that was even after I asked for a hard massage. One lady, Lena, did, however, try a little harder than the other. The only plus I can think of is that there is unlimited free parking.
Jun-Jun Clinic. From an ad in Eye Magazine, it is located at 374 College Street, near Bathurst Street. The phone number is 416-920-9601. They also have a location at 255 Queen Street West, but I have not been there. I saw Mary, who I believe is the owner. The clinic itself is located on the ground floor of a small office building, way at the back, and it is bare and uninviting. There must be four or more rooms, each as bare as the next. There is a common washroom, and my advice is to stay away from it. Parking was a bit of a problem. Mary, whose English is poor, is probably in her early forties, and she was not blessed by the gods of beauty. But what she lacked in that particular department, she made up for in enthusiasm and smiles. The massage was actually quite good and she has a lot of energy, and for the rather unusual price of $35 for 42 minutes, it may not be a bad deal if you happen to be in the area and in need of a little TLC. She apologized a couple of times for having to answer the phone, but she actually went for a full hour with me and didn't ask for more money, although I did give her a little extra. One funny thing did happen. After about fifteen minutes or so into the massage, she started to sing. The song was in Chinese and I didn't understand a word. Her singing voice, however, was soft and quite pleasant, as was the song, so I made a nice comment. Mistake ! I'll be damned if she didn't shift her voice into overdrive and break out into a musical moment that would give The Three Tenors themselves a run for their money. So, caveat emptor.
