just wondering what kind of blanket everyone uses on their table? What is exceptionally soft or cozy or warm or whatever? I'm searching for a very nice blanket..something washable and oh so comfy... t015

During the xmas season they were selling really fabulously soft and furry blankets at walmart. They were green, red, or beige on the "top side" and the furry size was a creamy white on all of them. It was $20, 100% polyester, and probably the softest things I've ever felt.

I used it a bit for clients, but since the sheet is between them and the blanket and I try not to let them touch the blanket much, I don't think they're really feeling it.

It is so soft though. My favorite thing to snuggle up in. I also saw the same ones at Linens and Things called "Sherpa Throws" but they were more expensive there. I can't find it online anymore, though they may still be at stores.

I just use the plain cotton thermal blankets. Maybe just a comfort thing for me. That's my favorite thing to wrap up in, so that's what goes on my table!

I too like the cotton thermal blankets and find them easy to use. Lately I've taken an idea from another therapist and have bought fleece. There's lots of colors and patterns in the fabric section and it only takes about 2.5 yards to create the perfect sized blanket for my table. No seaming necessary, easy to wash and Walmart often has their fleece on sale for $3.50/yard (or less!) which makes a lovely blanket for under $10. I've purchased enough that I can throw a fresh one on the table with each massage.

Got mine from LNT. It was around 30 or 40$ but sooooo cozy warm soft and snuggly! it 's called a Berkshire Blanket. They came in 3 or 4 colors.
Brookstone also has some wonderfuly comfy soft blankets called Nap blankets. mmmmmm t015

I generally take cotton thermal blankets when I go out to do outcall massages, along with flannel sheets. (Old habits die hard.... but I am trying to lighten the load!)
However, I do have two of the SeraSoft oversize throws (60x70 perfect for massage tables) which is made by Berkshire Blankets that PremoMT has commented about.
The serasoft oversize throws can be found at TJMaxx, Marshalls, Sam's Club and numerous other stores. (They also come in a variety of colors.)
(And yes I've even taken them with me a few times when I've had massage from other people... what can I say, it's "comforting" to me.)
I also talked a friend who does mainly MFR into getting a couple too, she saw mine and fell in love with it.
They're excellent for doing MFR as they drape wonderfully well since they're a bit stretchy, you can tuck it here and there and still have good range of motion. They wash up just as soft IMO, which is rare!

I found some nice fleecy twin size blankets from walmart that my clients adore! Theyre very light, so when Im making up the table, Im not throwing out my shoulder with the weight of the blankie lol

I've always liked the weight of a quilt when receiving massage. Just feels good to me. However that's not what I use, I just use cheapy fleecy blankets that I find on sale.

Does anyone know where I could get some Table sized quilts that wouldn't cost me a lot of money?

I found a yummy soft throw similar to being described above at Target for $20 or so. It is very popular (I don't use a top sheet in the recliner so the client snuggles up with the blanket), and washes up nicely. They're still being sold at Target - it wasn't a holiday thing, but since it is seasonal they might be clearing it out soon as they bring in the spring items.

I'm not much of a seamstress, but I have thought about doing this too. Is the width of the fabric already the size we need and then you just cut it to length? The edges don't fray if there is no seaming or a blanket stitch?

This summer I found a super cozy Columbia blanket at Marshall's. I think it's that plushy serasoft material. My clients love it and it launders nicely.

I think it's this one- except that "Columbia" is embroidered rather than the patch...

This isn't about blankets, but I just bought some new flannel sheets & aaaaaaahhhhhhh, how soft they are when they are new! Makes me wanna put a closed sign on the door, and crawl on my massage table for a nice long nap! :

Bliss! omg, that sounds heavenly..I know what you mean, I use mainly flannels..many times after I've gotton the room ready Ive wanted desperatly to crawl on that table, lock the door and sleeeeep... t015

I use the fleece blankets you can buy at Target/Walmart/Walgreens, sometimes for less than $9.99!, that are about 40x50. They have some kind of yarn stitching along the edge (more for looks, because I don't think fleece would ravel anyway). It holds the warmth in nicely, is oh-so-soft (though, like someone else said, I do my best to keep the clients from actually touching it LOL), and they're light and easy to wash. I have a bunch of these in several different colors patterns that coordinate with the decor of the rooms I work in.
