Doesn't surprise me one bit.
Several of the girls who worked there had confided in me (and likely other clients) that they were brought into the country with false documents, and under the pretense it was straight massage. BEGGED to help them "escape" and some even prayed for a bust so that they could be deported without seeming to have betrayed their bosses.
Once here, they were obliged to turn over $500 daily plus the room fees. After one year they were considered paid up. They were kept in a house in Richmond Hill and were not allowed any outside contact. Threats to their family back home kept them from disappearing. They said some girls faked sickness and one got pregnant to avoid having to keep working.
Pretty much the same modus operandi as the asian slave trade MP's that get busted every so often.
Some, like Nancy and a girl who worked at Cleopatra on Saturdays were legitimately working of their own free will.
Oh, and by the way, they said that they had to accept whatever the client offered... no saying no to a low ball price.
I don't mean to be sanctimonious but working in that business can only be right if done of ones own free will.
