AMAZING MASSAGE & SPA - 11903 111 AVENUE - AVOID !

So I recently checked out Amazing Massage & Spa (11903 - 111 Avenue).

If you follow the massage ads in Kijiji, Amazing is one place that always advertises (pretty well daily) and talks about the girls that they have working there.

They claim to be "legit", with only professional massage being offered. They always make a point of describing how "pretty" the girls are..but then I wonder...if there is "nothing extra" being offered, why does it matter how pretty the girls are?

When you text in and ask who's available, May (the owner), will always provide the nationality of the girl and then make a point of saying that shes "pretty". (not that a non-pretty girl can't give massages, but May hires only pretty girls).

Currently one girl that recently started there is "Melody".

To Melody's credit, she is very attractive. Having been a model in the Philippines (with pictures to prove it), she is now in Canada looking to start a new life. Slender build, wears LOTS of make-up, and a hint of Japanese in her blood as well. Nice outfits.

So I am see "Melody" advertised and book an appointment to see her. (two appointments already to be exact).

First appointment , massage was a light touch...but her perfume was extremely overpowering, to the point that I noticed it on my clothes when I went home. Only massage and nothing else. 1 hour - $80 (if after 9pm, rate goes from $70 to $80)

Appointment number two - i decide to go for a 90 minute massage....light touch....she won't let you go undraped but only minimal coverage is needed.

Light touch...talks alot...good conversationalist.

At the end of the massage, if you want to give her a tip, she asks that you do it in the main lobby (in front of the boss)

Summary:
- Massage was light touch with nothing extra
- Not sure what kind of place Amazing is, as "Melody" admitted that that's not her real name. She said that she left a very challenging life in the Philippines do to all the attention her modeling career was giving her
- I don't know why Amazing provides a physical description, when nothing is offered. May has told me that she will fire any girls that she finds are doing "extras".

The "massage" from Melody reminded me of the "wine bars" in Vegas in the 90's (don't know if they are still around....you would go in, find a girl, but you can't touch them, but they keep teasing you/leading you on). In this case, her massage is not of a therapeutic quality, and is actually a big tease for the girl, with nothing in the end....so why all the focus on how pretty girls are? Are you luring the guy in with eye-candy but then they will end up with empty pockets and no smile on their face?

If you want a pretty girl, check her out...I also notice there to be a high turnover of girls...she's had South Asian-Indian girls, black girls, chinese girls, Filipino girls...I've never seen any white girls there....and the girls that aren't there for a long time.

I've been there a few times since they opened, always hoping for that elusive HE. The massage always boarders on the verge of a tease but never anything more, I have left there frustrated and will end up at an AMP for that stress release. The girls are nice looking, but I feel it's all about the tip .

I am friends with someone that used to work there and by all accounts May is not a very good boss. Takes the majority of the money and isn't really a nice person. That would explain why there is so much turnover in staff.

I'm not sure why she enforces draping since she has no problem committing insurance fraud by writing receipts for these girls who are not trained

I'm not sure if they are still doing receipts, as I do recall seeing Amazing Massage on a 'delisted' list for an insurance company

I have see May counting out money at the end of the night and the girl only gets a few dollars....one time she told me that she paid the girls $40/hr...so I don't know how accurate that is (or not)?

Confirmed on the “delisted provider” list for Sunlife. That is new this year.
Not sure if that is due to getting caught, or not keeping up with paperwork.
No idea why, but they were good till recently.

All the delisted ones aka on the "Ineligible list" at Sunlife and at Canada Life were identified for perpetuating fraud. Writing receipts when the massage is performed by someone else. And for selling signed receipts to other massage shops. Thereby the same delisted therapist name is often repeated across multiple addresses/locations.

You can bet these 'madams' don't pay the workers 50% of the room fee. And they also want a share of any tips. Thereby they want to see the tip amount.

In cities where the room fees are low, it is not uncommon for the house to keep 100% of the room fees but the ladies always keep 100% of the tips. This may be the first time when I see that the house is keeping a chunk of the tips too. It has been a long time since I was there and this is enough info for me to avoid the place for a lot longer.

As mentioned by another poster, Amazing has lots of staff turnover, which shows that staff are coming/going constantly for some reason...whereas an Asian MP keeps their staff (based on the number of reviews from people who have seen the same lady over a number of months at the same location).

this is pretty much creepy to me man. others are welcome to disagree - but you really do need to mind your own business. none of this is your business - to ask questions about other ladies personal lives, about ownership, how they do business, and come spilling it all to an online forum.

I don't know all that much about the Edmonton scene, but generally speaking I totally avoid any spaces where women are being exploited. Can't comment about these posts as the motives are not clearly known (competitors?) but this type of business does exist. Avoidance is my approach. And when insurance companies put them on the black list, even more reason to stay away. For every massage practitioner with ability to write a receipt for massage, but they perpetuate insurance fraud, other therapists who worked hard and invested in their RMT businesses are being hurt.

i really like amazing. some cute ladies , fun conversations but as long as you go in not expecting extras you should leave a satisfied customer. they wont do extras but they are very skilled

i have noticed as much as i like the attendants at amazing. they are getting really bad at waiting times. several times now i show up and im left waiting for appointment. i hope may figues that out
