AMP Bottled Water

Honestly what is up with that?! Every time I go to a AMP they give me a bottle of water after im done, I always wonder why. Its like they could give me a lollipop or something, like at the doctors office, or some chocolate or even a damn mint if you DATY. Anyone else ever wonder why they give you a water bottle? Im not THAT old, 20 min of boom boom pow wont wear me out and dehydrate me that much...

I would prefer a beer, a smoke, or a sandwich.

Don't know but water seems to be the new way to show thanks in many situations. Indies I see give me water. The pre black tuesday non asian spas gave it also. Once I walked out of Babe's SC with a bottle of water. Days later I saw the empty bottle in my cup holder with its private label of: "Babe's Topless Club. Drink specials before 7."

It's called service. They are trying to go the extra step to let you know they value your business. I'm 70 and by the end of an 1 1/2 hour session with two Asian hotties I damn near need resuscitation. It's not that you NEED it, just a gesture.

I think it goes back to "real massage" places. After a real massage, they say you will be dehydrated and it's important to drink lots of water. They give you a bottle of water on the way out to get you started.

You made my day, Bowzer...thought I was the oldest fart on here and was wondering every time I belled if that was the end of the 15th round for me.

And that complimentary water? I need it. Heck, if they had a coin-op oxygen dispenser at those places I'd blow off the laundromat and bring my bag of quarters to the amp instead. Huffing O2 whilst a masseuse plays my flute...uh oh, I'm in trouble...dadgum mind's steering me where my brokedown body can't follow without a full recharge.

True, however; FWIW from Chinese therapy it is more for flushing the system and cleansing the kidneys. The kidneys thought to be one of the most vital organs. The massage is alleged to release toxin and waste from the cells and organs, thereby increasing their levels in the blood. Since the kidney filters the blood, the water helps to flush them out of the body with less strain on the kidneys.

It is a common courtesy in Asian culture, whether at work or home. It borderlines on annoying, but you've gotta love 'em for it.
On one hand they will criticize us fat Americans, but at the same time continuosly offer water, crackers, fruit nuts and any other kind of food that just happens to be available from the time you arrive and until you leave, EVEN if you tell them repeatedly, "No thanks, I just had lunch !!!"
The water, of course, is good for health too.

Yes, during my recent trip to China I counldn't believe how much was eaten at each meal and how frequently eating of some type was going on. I kept getting asked why didn't I want to eat more?

Funny, I once went out to dinner with a massage girl from Hong Kong. While standing in line at the restraunt, I asked her if she had kids. She said yes, she had 2, then said "how about you, when are you going to have YOUR baby, are you 7 months, or 8 ??" as she was rubbing my belly.
