johndoe22 sorry to hear about your ordeal, unfortunately this can and does happens as the Zona attracts allot of shady characters like the one you encountered. When approached by individuals like that I reject their offers and continue to my destination. I have heard stories of these kind of hustlers who are looking to make a quick buck, for me it is best to plan ahead and know where you want to go in La Zona and stick to that plan. If you explore do it on your own, not off some taxi drivers insistence or a street hustler.

Similar thing happened to my friends and I in China.

My friends and I went to a room saloon. (Karoke bar with girls hand feeding you drinks and food.) The bill came and it was approximately $1000 dollars. We did not even get to fuck the girls. We were the ones who got fucked. We did not have the cash or yuans to pay the bill. So, there were 4 of us males in the room. Two of us were kept hoseforum.xxxe until the other two were escorted to an atm to get cash. The chinese mobsters drove us to three atms but we faked like we were unable to withdraw the money.

The chinese gangsters did not speak english and we decided to simply use bank debit card to pay for the tab and then later call the bank to dispute the charge. So, finally, after 3 atms, the gangsters, drove us to another karoke establishment and processed the charge.

All four of us were released and we promptly informed the bank that we were robbed and forced to pay the hoseforum.xxxe release fee. So, the charge was reversed. Obviously, in Communist China, you cannot complain to the police, so we chalked up the loss to stupidity and a life lesson.

I cannot speak about your specific bank's fraud policy.
But as a general rule, you are much better protected by promptly claiming the fraud loss in writing, via both delivery of the written complaint to your branch and via certified mail to the address appearing on your monthly statement.

I would keep nagging my bank. When you call them ask to talk to their supervisor. Keep fighting this thing. Tell them you are not satisfied and not happy. If you think you did all you could tell them you are going to dump them. There's always something they can do for you. And like I've said if they refuse to help you just don't do business with them anymore.

Because when I was hustled out of the atm cubicle I hit the cancel button and it closed the withdrawal taking me to the main account transaction screen it did not close out the transaction to where I had to reinput my PIN# and when the guy hustled me out of the atm it did not close out of my account when the cab driver entered the atm stall. the bank said I am at fault for letting myself be forcibly escorted out of the atm stall and down the street to the next atm I call bullshit. If I had done something say like confronting the two mexican guys to their faces in the split second that I realized what had happened I would probably be in a much worse position than just being out of 500 dollars, and by the time that I realized it was the second that they took off in the cab. I want the bank to recompense me because I did not withdraw the 500 dollars someone else did. You go to a ATM using it in good faith that only you can withdraw cash from it. Since I did not give A. Consent B. My information to the people who withdrew the money. or even C. I called them right when the transaction occurred (sorry within a few mins). they said I would have to wait until the transaction finished going through before I could file a claim.

It would be something else if I had actually withdrawn the cash but I did not someone else did. well thats pretty clear isnt it?

Oh, and I probably didn't make this part of it clear I still have my atm card. They didnt palm it, clone it, or anything else so far as I can tell, They just got me out of the cubicle before I finished clearing my transaction and cleaned me out as much as they could. I understand that I was at fault for not clearing my ATM transaction screen. I get that. But that having been said being removed with physical force from that transaction makes me not liable.

I talked to the agent and she said some bull about how she listened to the two calls I made to navy fed and how I sounded "very strange". I wanted to hit something after she told me that. Really "strange" how about a little stressed, pissed off and ashamed that I let myself get dragged into that situation in the first place. Then she asked If I was drinking or on any substances. I told her no I dont drink or smoke or anything, then she asked what I was doing in TJ I told her it was none of her fucking business ( I was down for the women) and she then said she cant help me my fraud claim was denied and I could file a appeal. the she didnt tell me how to file a appeal before hanging up.

Look my stupidity in this fiasco hasnt ruined mongering for me I just would really like to get back my 500$ that the bank is being a bitch about, and as cathartic as writing about my dilemma is should I pursue this further? Am I being normal about this or would other people just accept it? IDK what would you guys do in this situation, Barring the foresight and very unhelpful answer that you would have never got in this situation to begin with?

Personally, I would not sit with their explanation. You need to move up the chain of command in the bank. You also need to go to the media. The banks want people to avoid tellers and use the ATMs; they do not want people to think that the ATMs are unsafe. You may want to talk to a lawyer. Your last resort would be to go to small claims court. Do not give up with this.

I reported it within 15 mins of it happening. I also talked to the bank and they since I "let" the man drag me out of the atm Im at fault.

Sorry to hear that you learned a valuable lesson the hard way. NEVER let any stranger "help" you in la Zona. NEVER get in a cab or any other vehicle with someone you do not know. Avoid any person who wants to be your BestFriend / TotalStranger and offers you a deal that just can't be beat. Keep walking quickly and tell the person that you are late and are going to meet your friends in Hong Kong or Adelita's.

P.S. Personally, I would ask to speak to someone else at the bank. This is debit card fraud and if you report it immediately (within 2 days), you are limited to a $50 loss.

Hey guys its been a while since I've been to tijuana (two Years) and I went down there last night after my grades from some of my college papers came back. Well I get down there and it was cool for the first 3 hours I stuck to adelitas and hong kong mostly and it was badass. I got laid by two really hot knockout chicas and I then made my error of the evening.

I went to the club Delicious,,,,I'm sure you guys know the one Im talking about. and went inside immediately a guy attached himself to me small mexican guy with a few scars and a black eye. He escorted me upstairs and ran downstairs to grab a girl. Came back up with the girl who kind of looked hot. said 50 bucks and I thought well might as well grab a goodbye fuck to tijuana as long as I'm looking to head back.

So this is where I went wrong well as least wrong as I can get besides straying outside of adelitas and hong kong. I gave him the money. He ran off presumably to change it for some god awful reason. then we (the girl and I) went next door and we Talked for 30 mins. (WTF)

ok then and there I decide to leave but as I was leaving the guy attaches himself to me and says that I owe hime 5 dollars for a tip. Well I just wanted to go home by that time and said if I would give him a tip after I went to a atm. So I grab a cab and he jumps in it with me and says we are going to a atm that gives us dollars at this time I have no cash on me and say yeah thats right. well we go to tropical club and the atm trys to charge me like a crazy processing fee. So we leave that and I tell the driver that I will pay him 4 bucks to get me to the atm. so when we finally get to a atm that is open after they take me to two closed ones. Right so 2 closed atms later we get to a open one and I access it (another processing fee) and just hit the cancel button when the club guy comes in and says that the atm is messed up. So I hit the cancel button and the club guy escorts me to the next atm as the cab guy enters the atm booth and pulls out his card. So I check at the next atm and it says that I reached my limit (I found out that 500 dollars is missing from my account).

then I look out and I see the two guys drive off and now I'm stuck, So stuck in tijuana with no money. In the middle of no where. after about 30 mins of walking I get back to the club and ask to see the club guy. And a swarthy mexican guy who wearing a navy sweater tells me to forget about it and go home. well I talk to the police and they say since I didnt get the cab number I'm Fucked. The bank said since I let the guy come into the booth and drag me out Im fucked oh and now rents due I'm almost fucked. Any recommendations???
