any general tips about periods, pads, tampons, easing cramps, etc? im a newbie to

periods: they are messy, make sure you shower daily! and i find feminim wipes are handy!

pads: they suck, it feels like your sitting in your blood and its makes your period even messier then it needs to be!

tampons: are amazing, easy to use, and are clean. I love them! you should definatly use them! I have been useing them since the first day i ever got my period and love them

easing cramps: ADVIL, ADVIL, ADVIL all the way!

okay so periods.you should expect them about 2 weeks after you get a huge glob of disscharge, the discharge is the egg being released from your body. Pads, i prefer always ultra thin long pads.they're really comfortable and dry. for overnight, i like kotex overnight. They are very long. Tampons- do not use tampax!they are not good for beginners. some people Love it some people hate it, but i tried them and dont suggest them for beginners. Pads- Wear them at night only. That way you can't really feel them. And they feel gross!

Tampons- U by Kotex or Tampax Pearl

Easing Cramps- Tyenol, Advil, and bananas

Period- Get ready for Hell

I always take pain killers BEFORE the pain starts. My doctor taught me this. So like if your period is predictable, it is good to take some pain killers starting like a day before so that the cramps will be minimal by the time your period actually comes. Also, use a heating pad if the pain really sux, heat melts the blood so it doesn't clot up and it just flows when existing your vagina. Clots can cause cramps. Take really warm showers and let the shower water aim to your pelvic region for a few mins to loosen your pelvic muscles.

Pads and tampons is harder to answer lol everyone's period is different so take that into consideration. Mine used to be very very heavy so I had to start taking birth control at a very young age to help me bleed less than before since it was causing me to become securely anemic. But like mine is still pretty heavy compared to slot of lol but much better than before so I use alot of overnight lol I don't really use tampons like during my most heavy days cuz even the most heavy flow tampon doesn't work that great for me unless its on my lighter days, but I'll be fine once you get the hang of it.

Also ask your mom or a female that you are close to that has a period also, they can give great advice too.

For the cramps, a hot bath is fantastic, a heating pad and strong ibuprofen too! I find that sometimes my cramps make me sick and if that does happen, saltine crackers, bread, and of course chocolate always help Use tampons and on a heavy day use thin pads..you don't to feel like you're wearing a diaper! I like Tampax pearl personally Good luck!
