I've never had a lomi lomi massage, from my understanding it shows you a lot of techniques to use other than your hands, but I may be wrong. ย I would honestly do a search to see if there is any sites that might have a demo of the technique so that you can see for yourself. ย It might be something that you can incorporate into your existing massage. ย I really don't know how much of the general public would even know about the technique to request it. ย I honestly didn't even know it existed until I was seeing ads for it in the massage journals. As for hot stone, I am certified and took the seminar. ย It is something that is usually only requested during the colder months, if you are in a warmer climate I honestly wouldn't take the class since it wouldn't be benificial to you in the long run. ย I personally don't like doing them or recieving them, I prefer real hands on. ย It was nice, and I warmed up very quickly, but it is too much of a luxury to get it done. ย Plus I hate having to check temperatures, and letting go of my client etc constantly. ย I am glad I took the course because there have been requests for it and I would rather not turn away money so I do it. ย I honestly thought there would be more of a demand but they charge too much for it at the spa and she doesn't pay me any more than my regular wage to do it. ย But it really depends upon the demand in your area, I did it only to pad my resume, and I am not someone who is comfortable watching a video to learn the skill.
