I've done Alcasar a few times. Only because it's close to the gulch and I read bad things about Lipstick across the street.

I've had wildly different experiences the times I went into Alcasar, which was strange enough, because it was always the same guy working the room. A real snake oil salesman The first time I went there, I had a great time. I went a little too early (around 9-9:30pm) and the place was pretty much empty except for some ticos. But I sat in the "VIP" couches at the front and let the girls parade by for inspection over a couple of so-so priced beers. Then this sweet young Nica came over and I splurged on a couple of lady drinks for her. We spent over an hour on the couch, making out and watching the other dancers and then I took her to one of the $30 quicky rooms for a 3 song finish. After, I went back and had a couple more beers while sitting and chatting with her. Also got her cell number for a Sunday get together back at my room, minus all the extra charges

I really like strip clubs though. I've got a local favorite that I have been frequenting for over 10 years and it's nice to just go and watch a game, drink some beers, listen to some loud music and socialize with near naked women who you can take to the back for some close up time.

The last time I went to Alcasar, it was in May, and the experience that time sucked big time. First, the "valet" was a lot more pushy. Second, the quality of girls working was way down (this was when they started pushing a lot of illegals out of CR near the election). I also tried one of the hr long rooms upstairs and it wasn't worth the price... that and the girl I picked that time was a dead fish.

I'd go back though. I'll just buy my beer and pay as I go and scope the girls out first. If there's no talent, then adios. At least at the Aclasar, they put your tab in front of you and everything gets written down as you go, so there's no hidden surprises. Just don't go nuts on drinks for the ladies and stay away from any "special" drinks. i think a small red bull (or whatever the CR equivalent is) was over $5 !!

Ironically, Atlantis is owned by gringos....I believe.

Why do guys still run a tab in strip clubs after all the warnings against doing so?

If you pay for each drink, they can't pad shit.

In Costa Rica, if you give somebody an opportunity to hustle you, they probably will. :idea:

BTW-In Le Grillon, you CAN run a tab because your tab is located on your table directly in front of you, so you know when something is added to it.

Alot of the expensive clubs are going downhill. Elite is closed, and over Christmas I ran into girls from the La Uruca clubs who were working the Del Rey.

Last time I was in atlantis the girls were mostly skanks and the rooms were dirty.

The best strip clubs in downtown are Le grillion and Margaritas.

Don't ever run a tab anywhere in Costa Rica, with very few exceptions. In LeGrillon, the tab is right in front of you on your table. They can't pad it without you seeing it. :idea:

That's a joke -- obviously never run a tab anywhere unless you're sure about the place. SL is about the only place that I will. Oh yeh, and anywhere that Asta is working.
