HOUSTON - The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has announced the emergency closure of a massage parlor accused of human trafficking.
In an order issued to owner Quang Train effective Sept. 30, Khamo Foot Massage, a massage establishment located near the corner of Highmeadow Drive and Hillcroft Avenue in West Houston, was closed after TDLR found several indicators of human trafficking in early September.
TDLR inspectors say they found employees, all of which were unlicensed, living in the establishment, which is open 24 hours a day.
Inspectors also found luggage, lingerie, underwear, and a fully stocked kitchen with a refrigerator full of food. They also discovered an on-site ATM, internal security cameras, and a heavy metal door leading to the treatment rooms.
The store was allegedly featured on a number of illicit massage websites, where user reviews outlined the illegal sexual services provided.
Houston Police also reportedly arrested an employee of the establishment early in September for prostitution.
Anyone who suspects a business may be involved in Human Trafficking can contact the National Hotline for Human Trafficking at 1 (888) 373-7888.
