The salon where I currently rent office space has merged with another salon in town. (thankfully we aren't the ones moving to a new building)The other salon was a Aveda salon. Now *this* salon will be switching to an all Aveda spa/salon. Soooo...the owners have asked me if I'd like to start using Aveda products. My question: Have any of you used these products? Hi Jen,I've used almost all of their haircare and body products on and off for the last four years. I've never once had a negative reaction and I really love their products.The all-sensitive lotion is nice for the face but doubt it would work well with massage. However, I love their new Caribbean Therapy line - so yummy!!! The Blue Oil line is also very nice - a peppermint blend that really is great for headaches and sore muscles. I experienced a posture-induced low back pain for several weeks and carried the Blue Oil around and applied it every few hours. Worked like a charm.   I've also used their foot and hand lotions, both very nice. A little pricey to use day-to-day at home but a welcome treat once a week. The aqua therapy sea salts are also heavenly. Hope this was the feedback you were looking for!

Are you looking for info on their general products for their use or on their products for you to use in your treatment room?  I too love the blue oil.  You must introduce yourself to this stuff...you'll love it.  Also their hand relief and foot relief is really wonderful...clients love it!  As far as their products to use for your massage...I don't like them.  I tried their oil and something else (sorry can't remember what) and really didn't like them at all.  I still use my nutra naturals from biotone.

I'm wondering about using them in my practice. I keep hearing good things about the blue oil. I'll definitely give it a try.

The salon I work out of uses exclusively Aveda.  They have asked that I try to use it.  Like the others I think many of the lotions are really nice.  The hand and foot relief are fantastic.  The Carribean body creme is wonderful (but pricey).  I actually use their massage oil and love it.  It absorbs into the skin so people don't feel greasy afterward but provides a good amount of slip while you are working.  I also use their body scrub which is nice.  All of their EOs (single notes) are diluted with carrier oils.Their skin care products can really irritate sensitive skin as they use a lot of botanical extracts.  There are 5 people that work in our salon and 3 of us can't use the face lotions.  I can't even use many of their make-ups as the minerals bother my skin  This is a bummer since I could get it all at cost and would end up costing less than drug store brands!  I use the all sensitive lotion for work on the face and none of my clients have complained of adverse reactions.  If people note that they have sensitive skin though I go without lotion on the face.The Avdea philosophy is really great though and their customers are loyal.  We sell a ton of product.

ohhh i love thier products. I am also a nail technician and i use thier foot relief at home and recomend it to my clients on the nl, since i dotn work at an aveda salon i cant sell thier products and if i wanted to use them durign my service i would have to pay retail. welll i cant afford that. So i think you are lucky to be murging with them!

This month the Aveda Hand Cream is participating in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating part of the sales to research. A good time to restock if you use the hand cream.

I worked in an Aveda salon for about a year and a half. Loved their products. Thier massage cream is a bit on the slick side for me, but I just learned how to use less of it.

The foot cream is excellent, though I didn't particularly care for the hand cream. Their face wash gel is awesome. I too have used the blue liquid and find it to be a nice "pick me up". I use their shampoo for myself at home... love it. I use their make-up. I especially like their lipstick -- very light. Their candles are really nice and the madagascar is one that won't give me a headache (I am sensitive to smell).

What else. The scalp elixer for men is fantastic, especially for bald/balding or shaved head men. Side note to others: Definitely get that if you're a guy out there looking for something that works!

All in all, I can't say enough about Aveday, except I wished it was a little less expensive. But then again, it is pretty concentrated and does last a LONG time!

I worked at an AVEDA spa's for four years. The blue oil is great for scalp treatments. I hated their massage cream it got sucked into the skin way too fast. The hand and foot cream is yummy too. They use to carry a great body polish, but of course that got replaced with the carribean line.

Love the AVEDA hair color and hair care stuff. They also carry my favorite foundation

I've never used the Aveda massage oils & creams - though when I've gone to an Aveda spa a couple of times they used them. While I liked the feel & scents,
my one issue was that they had parabens as preservatives. Parabens create an estrogenic effect which I personally want to avoid, & believe that women should not have any additional estrogen in our bodies as it may well contribute to the growth of tumors.
