can i travel the U.S. as a massage therapist?

my husband and i will be traveling the US for a few years for his work. we will be staying in each location for 3 to 6 months, i will find temporary local work to occupy my time at each new location.. i am a licensed massage therapist by trade and i would love to be able to work at local spas and clinics as we travel but it looks like i would have to go through the process of becoming licensed in each state before i could work in my trade. is there any sort of traveling permit that i dont know about? or will i be a traveling gas station attendant??
i am "nationally certified" but as far as i know all that means is that my credentials are nationally accepted. with the NCBTMB (national board lic.) i would still have to apply for a state license before i can work?? any ideas

Each state and sometimes even individual cities will require you to have separate license. The national will allow you to take state exams and state will allow city. It really just depends on where you go. I would advise looking up "state board of massage therapist for (insert state)".

Don't quote me on this but states are supposed to have "respect" for each others laws, which is why we don't have to get a driver's license for each state if we're just passing through. I think you're only supposed to get a state license for your trade if you're a resident there.
