Cost for a night out and other questions

My buddy and I are making our way to Phuket in a couple of weeks time from Japan,
I've been once, for two nights two years ago, picking up a girl for each of those nights. I didn't party super hard, but hard enough. I figure I spent about 5000 baht each night (it's hard to remember exactly), including my drinks, bar fines, lady drinks money for the girls etc.

I'm wondering what you guys spend on a night out in Phuket. Can you also give an idea of whether you're taking it easy on those nights out, or going all out with money as no concern. I'm trying to put together a loose budget ahead of time, so that I can figure out how much I will need (read: 'have left') for the rest of our trip after Phuket.

I have a couple of other questions as well. We are staying in a very large 2-bedroom suite in an expensive hotel (girls allowed - I confirmed this). I'm thinking that if I tell the girls this ahead of time, they may see Baht signs in front of their eyes and try charging us for more. Is this something I should be watching out for? Are there any good ways around this?

Finally, has anyone ever heard of anything being stolen from room safes in Thailand? The two other times I went I left stuff in my safe without worry, but I'm wondering if that was a little over-trusting or not. Any insight is appreciated.

Hey welcome to the forum.. Depends how hard you want to party.. and how many girls you want a day etc etc.. Most people here recommend atleast 5000 baht a day, i averaged 7200 baht a day working it out on my last trip, that was nearly a ST and a LT every day and alcohol and farang food every day. Some nights you won't spend as much.. some nights you will is what i found.

When girls asked what hotel i stayed at i never really told them incase i didn't want to BF them and they came looking.. so i just told them the soi i was staying on didn't seem to be a promplem.

Never read anyone having things stolen out of their safes.. but guess it can happen, never really worried though.

I think most guys, who want to go on the piss and take a friend for a night, spend on average 5K - 10K - Some guys do more... But again everyone has different budgets.

PS - Please don't think I am being rude... But as you are coming from Japan are you Japanese or western guys?? Becuase they could be a higher price if so!

PSS - I would also bring the confirmation with you to the hotel, about them being Guest Friendly just in case they change their mind... Has happened before.

It's pretty safe to assume about 10,000 baht per day if you want to have a good time and not scrimp and scrape. Of course if you cut down on ladydrinks and all the other little expenses then you can get by on less than 5,000 baht. Up to you.

As for which hotel you stay at and how much you give the girls. Nobody opens your wallet apart from you, so you only have yourself to blame if you pay the girls over the odds.

10 000 baht a day...just wondering if this a holiday amount or do you spend the same when you party at home....i think its a lot to spend everyday...but then i cant take 2 bg a day and have a massage...just to old 55555 enjoy it while you can

I certainly wouldn't get through that amount in a day in the UK Barry, it's just for when I'm in Thailand. It mainly goes on drinks for me, ladydrinks and paying for sex. Although the other night I went out on my own for an Indian and got through £85 and didn't realise until I counted up yesterday. Didn't even get a legover. A rough breakdown was £45 for the Indian including a bottle of wine, a couple of beers and an Irish coffee, 3 taxi's, numerous beers and a couple or three of large vodkas. Don't do this every day by any means though.

Rule 2:
Don't buy LDs for someone you are not taking out of the bar soon.

(Broke that rule myself in Rawai this week).

Rule 2(A) always check the price of LDs before purchase!

just thought 10 000 baht(is that around 200 pounds?) a day was a bit excesive....can understand the guys going big on a couple of nights but everynight????...my old body would never cope...
if you taking a bg or fl(not go go girl) would think 5000 baht should be more than ample for the night
85 pounds would get you a seriously good meal here in Cape Town and have some change

Other than that it just adds to the good time you are having and general ambiance of the bar if the drinks are flowing and you have a few companians. If i bar fined every girl i bought a lady drink for my old chap would drop off after about 2 days...
