The owner of a local massage parlor has until Monday to remove bunk beds, mattresses and clothes from the business.

The West Des Moines fire inspector believes female employees are living inside the Bamboo Massage and Spa on Grand Avenue -- an area zoned for commercial use.
Kevin Trevilyan represents the First Ward in West Des Moines. He said he was unaware that a relatively new neighbor was allegedly caught violating a serious city code.
“I would hope the Police Department’s going to dig into this,” Trevillyan said.
However, the case rests with the city code inspector. Authorities said there is no active police investigation.
“We don’t know of any criminal activity that’s going on,” said Sgt. Brent Koch of the West Des Moines Police Department. “So we’re not going to initiate an investigation on a legitimate business that’s operating in town until we get a complaint.”
The owner has until the end of the weekend to remove the beds and ensure his employees are leaving after the spa closes.
