ST. LOUIS — A woman and her husband are suing a Kirkwood spa after one of its employees was charged with sexually assaulting her during a massage.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, names Massage Luxe Kirkwood and massage therapist Jon Lindbergh as defendants.
The couple, only identified as Jane and John Doe, allege the business' negligence in screening its employees and training them led to the assault on Sept. 24, 2024.
Massage Luxe Kirkwood did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The couple is asking for a judgement in excess of $75,000.
Lindbergh in October was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of second-degree sodomy. Police said the incidents involved a female client while Lindbergh was working as a massage therapist.

Lindbergh, 24, from St. Louis County, was arrested Oct. 25 on a $100,000 bond. In November, his attorney asked the court to reduce his bond to $5,000 so Lindbergh could live with his father in Brentwood as the case worked its way through the court.
A judge in December denied the request. The next month, Lindbergh posted the $100,000 cash bond, according to court records.
His next court date is April 11.
Kirkwood police in October asked anyone who had similar experiences with Lindbergh to contact the department.
