Daytime Beachside Sunset Watering Holes

Has anyone discovered any good places for a beer after getting off the beach and reading a book or watching the world and talent go by.

In Patong I usually sit outside the bars at Starbucks, or Rock City or the ones at the South end of Patong Beach but also sometimes try the Savoye Seafood bar with the big wooden bench or direct on the beach near Victorias Guest House near Boots the Chemist.

I also like to have a ride into Kamala or Lame Sing beach as well.

I went to Mom Tris Boathouse on Kata Beach in May for dinner and got there just before sunset and had a drink in the Bar which is right on the beach and watched everyone packing up for the day and the sun set and for me that is the best place I have been and the women on that small beach were very good looking as well, so I will be giving that a go again next Month.

yeah, it really is a shame that Patong cant have a few bars right on the beach

There a few watering places on the beach. You have those 3 restaurants where you can have a drink: I think Sabai on the beach, then the French guy and then a Thai one. Next to it is a bar from Cabana hotel (they even have happy hour). A bit further there is a small bar/open air resto from Patong Bay Garden and closest to Bangla is another terrace on the beach you can reach from the gallery next to Subway.

is they seem all bunched together

i guess i am dreaming of that stand alone tiki bar on the beach

Cabana is not bunched together. Drinks are more expensive, hotel prices.

there's also the reggae bar at the southern end of Kata beach, one of my favourite places to watch the sun go down.

The little beach bar on Tri Trak (Crystal Bay) Beach is a good place for a few beers at sunset.It is at the end of the blacktop road before driving up the track to the Paradise Beach.:intello:

Another one is the Blue Point Bar at top of hill behind Amari Coral Bay.:rules:

Living here and on a budget , so nth from Sabaii Beach that Cap'n sited ,on Patong , but not far from there ,is a bunker like structure and I like nothing better tha to have a cold brew at Oys place at 60tb a SingHA after a late arvo surf or swim with the local men and watch the fireball glow as it goes down.
Also Divers simple place with lively expat conversation, on Surin Beach.

Up the hill from Kata on the way to the view point has a couple of bars overlooking Kata Noi .Very nice way to end the day with a couple of beers watching the sunset

Sunshine Bar here in Kamala is great for a few cheeky ones as the sun sets. 50 Baht happy three hours. Appropriate name too!

Aussie bloke as just taken over the lease and confessed to knowing nothing about cricket and then proceeds to name all the English captains back to around the Dark Ages!

The sun is setting further to the East now and there is a great breeze that whistles past the bar bringing out the goosebumps as you sip a cold one.

PS The girls don't turn up until later!

Come down the hill from Patong and take the first left with May's Den Bar on your right, keep going towards Millionairs Row and take the right onto the Beach Road with the temple and then the school on your right.

Bear right at the end with Nuntana Residence on your left and it is the first bar on your left.

Big sign saying 'Sunshine Bar' is a dead giveaway.
