I'm from London-UK and have been wanting to move to Canada for a long time. I've been researching and I really like Edmonton is this a wise move? what is the pros and cons?

I don't think I would mind the winter, Here in London-UK it's cold all year round. I heard in Edmonton it's quite warm in the summer.
 
edmonton is the highest murder capital in canda.. it is cold in the winter 7 months out of the year.. its full of run down bad areas full of drunk natives and millwoods "part of edmonton is full of muslim pakistanians, the east side of edmonton is full of stinky chemical plants, there is realy nothing to look at around the city mostly fields
