Electric lift/hydraulic tables

Hi all,

Well, my practice has grown enough to allow me to get the ONE thing I have wanted since graduation... an electric lift table!

I want to get the best one for the money and was wondering if anyone had an idea of where I could go online to compare them. Can't spend unlimited $$$, but want one that will be reliable and last. Any pros/cons of any certain brand would be greatly appreciated!

I also thought I read somewhere that you get some tax advaneforum.xxxe to having one of these. If someone could elaborate on that, I'd be so grateful!

I have a Golden Ratio Olympus electric lift table. I've had it since June 2006 and it's great. I like being able to adjust it on the fly and it's really helped save my lower back after almost 20 years of practice. My only gripe is that it's about one or two inches narrower (a word?) than my last table. I have difficulty worked on client's arms and hands and notice that some have trouble keeping their arms on the side of the table. I also miss having room underneath to store stuff. These are not big problems and overall I'm happy and my clients appreciate my commitment to equipment .
I think there is a tax credit of about 50% of the price for ADA access. I've seen a website somewhere with the forms. I'll find it soon as I'm finishing my taxes. There have also been some nastly ADA lawsuits filed by shills in my area and I'm glad to be immune from this. 8)

Yes I was wondering does anyone have the Golden Ratio Olympus table? Do they like it? Is it solid? Would they buy again? Its either that one or the Earthlite Elora. The only downside that I can see is that the table is 30" wide not 29 or 28 which I prefer. Also I don't know if it has an extra foot pedal option so I can operate it on either side of the table.

The club I worked at had 2 Earthlites that kept breaking down. It was so frustrating. I once had a larger client on the table and it stopped working the the middle.

I have an Earthlite Elora and love it. I got the 32" because I have several larger clients who were tired of their arms slipping off the side. I added the salon top for pregnant (or other) clients who want to come and have their feet and legs massaged. And I added the deluxe armrest - the best choice, since my clients love it.

I keep the foot pedal at the head of the table and have had no problems - no need to have a second pedal. I prefer it at the head of the table because anytime I raise or lower the client mid-session I like to quietly tell them I am about to do so. Not because the table is loud or jerky - quite the opposite - but because I don't want them to be startled by the sensation of moving.

I had no idea what a difference a lift table would make but it really helps my back AND it helps my clients who found it difficult to get up on my table even with a stepstool. I'm 6' 5", so it was quite a hop up (or down). Being able to raise the table when I'm doing an exfoliation or lower it when I'm doing deeper work all in the same session is very freeing. I no longer feel limited to a particular modality based on my table height at the beginning of the session. I can start with it low and sit at the head of the table and do facial, scalp, neck and shoulder work and then raise it effortlessly to work extremities and then lower it again to focus deeply on the back.

PLUS - because the table is ADA compliant I got 50% of the purchase price back on my tax return as a CREDIT (minus the $250 deductible) - it was like getting the table for half-price. I got mine at http://www.massage-table-direct.com with all the extras for less than some places were selling just the table. $1299 plus the tilt-top ($100) plus the deluxe arm-rest ($69) and shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 is only $79 - this was the biggest savings because some places charge $100 and up on big tables like this.

I decided on the Oakworks Europa. Got the flex top so I can begin to offer more spa type services too. I am so excited, can't wait to get it.... BWG, Wish I'd heard from you sooner on that source, will have to see if they would have given me a better deal or not... either way, I think it is a good investment.
