Hi Summer,
I'm just completing the 3rd module of a Comprehensive Diploma in Auricular Acupuncture, with The British college of Auricular Acupuncture. The first two modules covered needling Auricularacupoints and thismodule is in Electro-acupuncture. We use a machine called a Dentron FM and use a probe head to stimulate both Auricular and body points.
Yes, you're correct in thinking that points can be stimulated in the same way as needles, but i suspect that you won't find a course which is only about EA, as without the TCM knowledge gainedin a Body Acupuncture course (which can take up to three years to learn) how would you know which points to treat ??
In our course we were taught to use body points to back up and support the Auricular acupoints already chosen. We covered around 30 major points and Ashi points ~ but there are over 300 body points in all !!
Hope this helps
