FAIR LAWN, NJ — For a good time, you might have to wait a bit to call the Goodtime Spa in Fair Lawn.
Officials in that town ordered the spa to temporarily shut this week, said Town Clerk Nicholas Magarelli on Thursday.
Magarelli said that on Wednesday, the Fair Lawn Building Department inspected the spa, located on the corner of River Road and Hopper Avenue.
The spa closed immediately.
The inspection found that they could not provide a valid state license, officials said, which is required by both the state and town.
To reopen, they will have to provide a valid license and pass a subsequent inspection.
According to reviews online, the spa has been there for at least five years.
The borough of Fair Lawn said it "encourages all licensed massage businesses to ensure their state and municipal documentations are up to date to avoid disruption of operations."
Magarelli told Patch, "Our police and code enforcement officials are monitoring it."
