Getting a massage on my period?

I have some Spafinder gift certificates, and I *finally* have a couple of days off and I've been wanting to try a hot stone massage, but I was wondering, is it in bad taste to have this done while I'm on my period?
Also I don't know if this matters, but I can't really use tampons because of physical reasons (obviously I would keep my underwear on, lol)

No, it's fine. You don't even have to tell the therapist - it won't make any difference in how the massage is performed or in your reaction to it. Enjoy your massage.


EDIT: To the person who said you always keep your underwear on during a massage, you're wrong. A professional therapist will tell you to undress to the level of your comfort. About 60% of my clients are completely undressed. I use good draping to keep them completely covered, and I have much better access to work the low back and hips without clothing getting in the way.

Its fine! You always keep your underwear on during a massage anyways, so its no big deal. As long as you're fine with wearing a pad and laying there in it for the whole hour or so, you're good to go. If you think you might leak during that time you can say you need to go to the bathroom or tell them that you're on your period if you feel comfortable (you might be able to request a female, depedingi where yougo). I usually just wear a tampon, but you obviously can't. And since you're on your period, a nice massage will probably feel especially good! Enjoy!
