I also agree that it was an isolated incident. I have been to Prague 5 times and learned a valuable lesson the first time I was there....
I was with a friend. We were on, maybe our 3rd day... had done a few of the clubs, establishments etc. the previous days. We were walking down one of the alleyways near Karlovky Most. Two girls approached us. One was hot, the other was NOT. My buddy pleaded with me to play wingman. So I did. They walked us all over, looking for another bar to go to (late at night). They brought us into a small bar - not sure of the name or location, as the girls did a good job of getting us lost. We sat and drank. I was determined to get a good buzz if I was playing wingman - and maybe it would be goo enough to make the other girl look better. We drank a lot - mistake #1. Mistake #2 - we both went to the restroom at the same time - leaving our drinks on the table. Soon, I woke up on the street, broken rib, no wallet. My friend got mugged too, but not injured. He was slightly more coherent than me. He said that all he remembers is us leaving the bar with the girls - helping me walk, and 4 guys came around the corner. The girls probably lifted my wallet in my state, and the guys took my friend's wallet - allegedly (again I was out cold) at knife point. The girls took off into a park. I ended up on the ground and was probably kicked. Again, not sure exactly what happened.
Moral of the story: 1st - For the most part, you are in control of your own destiny. Use common sense. If you think something is not right, you are usually right. 2nd - DO NOT drink excessively, but if you must, DO NOT leave your drink (if you are in an environment you do not know)! I don't care if you are in Prague, Mexico, the USA or ANYWHERE! 3rd - Make sure you call the shots, especially when you are drinking! - If you meet girls that are overly-interested (a bad sign in the first place), take them to somewhere you know.
Again, I had to learn this one the hard way - I hope this helps fellow mongers stay out of trouble. Be sensible and be safe!
