Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has opened its newest location in Calgary under the ownership of Viral Patel and Gunjan Vyas.

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has announced the opening of its newest franchised location in Calgary.

The new spa is owned and operated by experienced local businessmen Viral Patel and Gunjan Vyas. Patel and Vyas opened their first Hand & Stone in Sherwood Park last month, which was also the first for the brand in Alberta.

“Gunjan and I have each owned successful small businesses over the past decade, and we know how important it is to invest in a brand you believe in and that provides a valuable service to the neighbourhood,” says Patel. “By developing these two Hand & Stone locations in Alberta, we have an exciting opportunity to create a flagship spa experience with a successful brand and introduce our guests to affordable luxury that can help them look and feel their best.”

Patel and Vyas both moved to Canada in 2011 after becoming college friends in India. Patel initially lived in Saskatchewan, relocating to Calgary earlier this year to run the daily operations for the spa along with his wife, Yashika. Vyas oversees the recently opened Sherwood Park location with his wife, Dipti Pandya. He is the one who initially learned about Hand & Stone while booking massages for Dipti.

“It’s still rare to find the combination of massage and facial services in one concept here in Canada. Hand & Stone brings them together in a relaxing, tranquil environment our communities are going to love,” adds Vyas.

The newest Hand & Stone offers registered massage therapy, including Swedish, Himalayan salt, sports, deep tissue, and prenatal massages to Calgary. Other services include hot stone massage and facial and hair removal treatments tailored to everyone’s needs or skin concerns, with a wide range of services available for women, men, and teens. All services are performed by certified estheticians and registered massage therapists.
