ABMP proudly presents the broadest insurance coverage offered by any association serving the massage, somatic and esthetics professions. Your insurance is an "occurrence form" policy which means coverage continues if a claim is filed at a later date for an incident that occurred while you were still an insured member. Coverage includes liability arising out of your premises and operations, your professional liability, and manufactured products you resell. The insurer will also defend you if someone sues you alleging your wrongdoing in one of these areas.Commercial liability insurance offers essential protection and peace of mind for professional massage, bodywork and esthetic practitioners. This protection not only covers you if you're found to be at fault, but also provides for your legal defense. Without it, you could be out tens of thousands of dollars just to defend yourself against a frivolous or false claim or even as the result of fallout from a misunderstanding. Your personal liability insurance protects you in three major categories: Professional Liability (your client alleges injury resulting from treatment), Product Liability (your client alleges they had a reaction to a product you used or retailed to them), and General Liability (your client alleges injury from a slip or trip and fall situation). The occurrence form liability policy also provides coverage for your massage operations for Bodily Injury, Personal Injury and Property Damage up to the limits that are determined by your membership level. You also receive $100,000 for fire damage to premises you rent. If one of your clients claim they have been injured, or you suspect that a client has been injured, report the incident to ABMP immediately. Our BPP program covers members' property (equipment) both on and off premises. This is important as many policies do not cover property once it is taken off business premises. The policy provides members with up to $10,000 of coverage on a blanket basis. This means you do not need to hassle with providing us with a list itemizing equipment values of their property. Both your current and newly acquired property is insured for replacement cost, up to the $10,000 limit. Should members have a covered loss, their claim will be paid based on the cost of that equipment, new, with no deduction for depreciation. All losses are subject to a $250 deductible. Coverage is written on a broad basis with few exclusions. Comparable insurance programs cost over $200 per year, but is available to our members for only an additional $95 per year.
