Hotel Rip Off

Hi Could Any Of You Please Help Looking For A Hotel In Patong Beach That Is 3 Star Or 4 Star And Girl Friendly.
Stayed At The Patong Beach Hotel Last Year And The Robbers Wanted 3000 For Girl To Stay The Night And She Had Leave By 10am.
Ruined The Trip For Myself And Mates,end Up Using Short Time Flea Pits.
Any Advice Would Be Most Welcome.

Heaps, go through the websites and email your selection and ask them point blank, "Are there any visitor fees for a double room?"
Can rec, (since you say 3 star) Summer Breeze or C and N, or ( 4 star ) Salathai or Royal Phanwadee all GF last I knew.

If you know the score , and still decide to stay there , then it hard to see how you can call them "Robbers" and say the hotel ripped you off.

Good quality hotels don't want 'downmarket' people- stop whinging on your first post here and sort out the level you want to enjoy patong. If you splashed out mega bucks for a good hotel would you want to see people walking around with slappers- it works both ways.

I stayed at the same hotel with a couple of mates a few years ago and just didn't realize at the time I was booking it would cost me extra to take a girl for the night. Having paid for 2 weeks there I only used it as a place to keep my stuff and chill out during the day with my mates. I think I only ended up staying there 1 night the rest of the time I stayed with bgs at there place.
I have had a few mates stay at Summer Breeze and love it there.
And as you can see on the advertisement to your right its guest friendly.

should have said booked trip with travel agent stayed at bangkok the landmark first then on to patong,and also thought that all good hotels would be the same as pattaya no problems getting bg's in just have to pay about 800 not 3000.

That is the problem with booking a hotel through a travel agent. They do tend, understandably, to book guests into respectable hotels that don't allow overnight guests (unless you pay through the nose with a joiner fee and even then some flatly refuse).

Maybe next time you visit, you will consider booking the flight and hotel yourself on the web. With recommendations from the forum, you can get a good hotel that will allow guests for free, and I have always found I save money booking my own flight and hotel rather than paying for a middle man to do it.

i was trying to book under the raidar if you get my drift any way any more advice on good hotels that are bg friendly or are you lot just going to slag me.

Maybe a sense of disbelief at you booking the wrong hotel when you have been a member of the forum for so long and not taking note of previous postings and advice.:surprised:

late last year i was organising a trip to Phuket with 2 other friends (their 1st time) i made an enquiry with "Flight Centre" for return airfare, 2 nights Bangkok & 12 nights Phuket & transfers, but they had us staying in the Holiday Inn (i think) & i knew it was a 3000B joiner fee for guests. so i rang the travel agent here where i live & asked if she could change hotel to a guest friendly one, she asked "what do u mean ?" i explained taking a guest back to my room for the night, she said " no there are NO hotels in Patong that are Joiner Free, & i dont know of any hotels that would allow that", i said i'll get back to u .
i guess that travel agents have deals with major hotels & only send u to hotels on their list ?
i was never going to use flight centre ,i always do my own flights & hotels on internet myself, i just wanted to compare prices, i saved a lot of money just by doing it myself ,i saved about $1000.00 each on hotel/flights/transfers , we stayed at the Sumeforum.xxxreeze.

Not slagging you off as you say , but you really should do some more research yourself . I wouldn't be paying an 800 joiner fee in Patts when there are numerous very nice hotels that are guest friendly...

There are not that many high end hotels that are girl friendly. Even if they allow bg's with a joiner fee, it is still frowned upon.....and who wants to stay in a place where your campanion is treated like crap?

Most top hotels are not guest friendly, but I was pleasantly suprised by JW Marriott in Bangers being very Guest friendly. Still it is v close to NEP!

Bangkok is a diffrent story,mostley al big, or 4,5 stars hotels are gf.

No problem in Landmark,Dynasty Grande,JW,Amari or some of the others close to Nana.

Patong sell themself as a family oriented holiday destination,so you cant blame them in a way.
If i was going there with my family i wouldent be interested in that traffic in a big scala at my hotel either,i would expect it to be silent at night,no slamming doors,arguments and high heels who clicks up and down the corridors :intello: :intello:

But Its so many hotels that address themself to the other group,so its not a big problem if you not are totally lost or new to Patong.

I always book a double room when I travel and tell the hotel that my girlfriend will be accompanying me but not arriving with me. The hotel's all seem to charge the same price for a double room whether there is one or two people booked.

I have rarely encountered any problems when taking a girl back to the room, even if they typically charge a joiner's fee as they are expecting 'my girlfriend'. They may want to see her ID card etc. but generally no problems.

If they ask for a name for my girlfriend when booking, I tell them "Mi Chica" (mee cheekar) - which means "my girlfriend" in Spanish (that most Thai's don't speak Spanish I've found convenient on more than one occasion) and explain that to them if challenged because the name
on the ID Card is not as expected.

There is the odd hard-a*se place I have encounterred that may recognise a different girl on subsequent nights and make a fuss, in which case I will just change hotels ASAP - but it has been my experience that this is generally the exception.

Another advaneforum.xxxe is that you also get two breakfast coupons so if you want to go cheap on the girl's breakfast (or want a big breakfast/second cup of coffee gratis) you're set.

Oh well - my two cents...
