How do I introduce my girlfriend to an attractive bartender acquaintance?

My girlfriend and I have been dating for almost a year and I am madly in love with her. She is the girl of my dreams but sometimes overreacts about other women when she shouldn't. I would never even think about cheating on her, or want to for that matter. There is no one out there I could possibly be more attracted to. Anyway there is a bar that I frequent that my girlfriend has never went to with me before. My friends find the bartender attractive and I have known her for quite some time. We don't hang out or talk/ text. We are just friendly and I get free drinks. I am worried about my girlfriends reaction when I bring her there. The bartender knows I have a girlfriend as she has a boyfriend. We never flirt with each other or have hooked up or hung out. Is there any type of precaution I can take to avoid a disastrous situation? I don't want my girlfriend to think anything is going on between us because there isn't. I also don't want my girlfriend to say anything bad to my friend. Advice?

there is no good way to do this. if she is as insecure as I am. I'd freak out anyways.

I think its great that you want her to meet the bartender though, so take her - BUT DONT LOOK or talk to the bar tender much

Don't seek out the bartender when you go there. Just sit with your girlfriend, and if the bartender comes by, then you can introduce them. If you girlfriend is really insecure, maybe sit next to her and be holding her hand or have your arm around her when the bartender comes by, so she knows you are claiming her in front of this other girl. If you make a point to avoid taking her there, it might raise her suspicions more. The best thing is to be open and show her you have nothing to hide.

And regardless of whether a girl "should" or "shouldn't" be jealous, she will be. Girls are just insecure like that.

How would you introduce her to any of your guy friends? When you introduce them, tell her of how this acquaintance and you met, the bar-tending qualities are one of the things that I make mention of with one place that I used to go to, where the one girl always had my usual drink ready for me when I walked up to the bar (if she saw me walk in). It is a friendship situation, right? then treat it as such.

I am certain that, unless she is fresh out of high School, then she has guy friends that are closer to her than this bar-tender is to you, so if that doesn't bother you, then she should not be bothered that you have a "gal pal", even if it is nothing more than a bar-tender-regular customer relationship.

Don't beg trouble. It finds us without our help.
