How is nursing and massage therapy the same concerning knowledge?

My husbands sister is an massage therapist. We got into an argument about how nurses and massage therapy are different. I also told him that massage is sometimes used by nurses to help patients. I told him that nurses have more years of schooling and knowledge concerning health care. He got really pissed. He says that his sister could teach me alot and that maybe I should try learning from her. I wont discount that she could help me some way, shape, or form but I think I rather learn from a veteran nurse. He told me I was a robot and that I would harm someone one day because I'm not open minded. I'm not mad, that's his family. He is proud of her. But I think he's confused about the profession of nursing. I guess he undermines the profession.
