How to introduce a new, 6 week old kitten to a 1 year old cat?

So I've had Samii ( 1 year old ) for like a year, she's my cat only. My sister today, just got an 8 week old baby kitten which is just hers. We have separate rooms and the kitties are both very sweet and nice. I've NEVER heard Samii hiss! But when we were trying to introduce them to each other Samii hissed! Samii is very devoted to me she follows me around the house, comes when I call, so I couldn't understand it! Please help!

well wait another 8 weeks my cat we got him when he was 12 weeks old and we waited a littel longer then what we did was put the older cat on a leash and and walk it in to the older cat and do u know that you should keep the cat in a smaller room so it gets used to the smell of ur house anyways the older cat wont attck the smaller one but also the female sometimes might not be a social so the cat might be more of a skitish cat also the other cats will hiss at eachother its like saying "you the heck are you and why are you here" hope i helped

I have introduced quite a few cats into my house and I find the best thing to do it leave them to get to know each other, because if u separate them it will take them longer to get used to each other. Thier will always be a little hissing which is completely normal but it won't last long.

Keep them in seperate rooms for now and keep them away from eachother. If you have clear doors introduce them through the door. For about a week swap their toys and put a small towel under their food bowl and switch those. Because cats associate food with good so if they smell the other cat with food other cat with food. You can also wrap up the older cat in a towel holding her and comforting her and show the kitten to her. That way she can't hurt the little kitty. After about 5 days of this put your cat on a harnest and leash.( if you have one and if not they are really cheap) make sure the cat stays in one place so she can watch the kitten go about her domain. If the kitten comes over and she hisses or growls that's normal if she bats at him that means she is worried the kitten will take over and she wants to stay dominant. After 2 weeks of introducing let them introduce themselves. If you take it slow and slowly introduce them they will be best friends. My cats now cuddle and lick eachother, it is adorable .
