It's one of the best-kept secrets in Sydney's eastern suburbs, with busy professionals in the know treating themselves to a sensual rub-down better known as a Kahuna lomilomi massage.

My idea of total relaxation is a trip to the day spa for a few blissed-out hours and an escape from my busy life.

But today, my knowledge of relaxation is being taken to the next level as I experience a Hawaiian-style massage that some say is so powerful you can experience an earth-shattering orgasm on the table.

Naturally, I was curious.

To be clear, this is not a 'happy ending' massage. It is a sensual - not sexual - massage and there is no contact with the genitals.

After tracking down a suitable masseuse trained in Kahuna lomilomi, I am invited to the practitioner's home studio to try the massage for myself.

Just quietly, I'm terrified.

I nervously arrive to my appointment, perched on the clifftops of Dover Heights, overlooking the ocean in Sydney's east.

I am welcomed to Steve's sleek studio, where he gives me a general rundown of what to expect from our session.
