Introducing my friend to anime: suggestions?

she has always said anime are just cartoons. I ve introduced her to a few and now im trying to think of another one she might enjoy

she didnt care for: karas, ghost in the shell, aeon flux (yes i know its american), princess mononoke
moribito
she kinda liked (but didnt finish): elfen lied, ergo proxy, ninja scroll, afro samurai
she HATED: desert punk, FLCL,
she really liked: cowboy bebop, berserk, howl's moving castle
she LOVED: claymore and spirited away

she wont watch anything with comedy, sexual fanservice, or too much gore (which is why she didnt finish elfen lied) and likes romantic drama

i was thinking either hellsing or gungrave (trying to step out of the fantasy genre)

any good ideas?

I'd recommend all of them but I think Clannad and 5 CM Per Sec might fit her tastes most since it's in the Romance/Drama categories and have gotten a lot of good feedback and reviews.

(I should also note that 5 CM Per Sec is actually a movie divided into 3 'episodes' or part. It's an incredibly beautiful movie but not everybody will like it. There's no action or big dramatic scenes or anything like that. It's a very calm, melancholy anime and though it's one of the best anime (movies) I've seen, unfortunately not everyone can appreciate the beauty of it.)

Has she tried Fullmetal Alchemist yet? It has minor amounts of comedy and gore, but it's primarily an adventure/drama show.

Also, perhaps Fate/Stay Night. It has a higher density of graphic violence than FMA, and it's rather confusing, but it's still well worth watching.
