Ok, this past thursday this guy asked me to homecoming at lunch, in front of everyone, and I said yes. Everyone says I did good, and that hes really nice. And he seems like the perfect guy (if there is such a thing) He was really scared when he asked me, because he thought I would say no. Well I told my parents that I said yes, and that he would be my date to homecoming. My dad just about flipped out. Im black, Protestant, democratic, and my date is Catholic, white, and republican. But idk why my parents wouldnt <3 him. He is on the math team, won the science fair, chess team (yeah, i know, chess team...) wrestles, plays football, and is on the debate team with me. Hes like a dream come true, no doubt future president. But my dad insists that before he can take me to homecoming, he has to come over for dinner. Just great, in other words its interrogation tim. So, my question is how should I tell this guy about my dad/the mandatory dinner? Im afraid he'll get freaked out, and not want to go with me, and I would be absolutely crushed. Or should I pull him aside, or maybe write him a note? I was thinking about a note. HEELLLPP!!!!
