Is this rude or out of line ?

I recently asked an out-of-town Montreal SP if she had ever toured Toronto or if she ever would. Just two simple questions?

She replies with a lecture about how this was rude, time wasting and not appropriate, unless I was offering to sponsor the trip.

Was I wrong in reaching out to her this way? I thought she would do great here but with that attitude - not so sure now.

No but in my experience, many SPs are like this because they get guys texting them all the time. So if you're not texting with the intention of putting money in their pocket by setting a date, they see it as timewasting
Lecture was probably a preventative measure to stop you from texting her for anything other than setting appointments. Ironically its them being rude but it is what it is

How dare you tell an SP how to run their business?! Their text lines are for business inquiries only, no chit chatting. Time is money!

And being an SP is a serious, cut throat, ruthless endeavor to make more money than the next girl. It has absolutely nothing to do with customer service.

You should be grateful your texting conversation didn't end up on their Twitter feed as an example of a timewaster and as subtle hint to her followers to, yes, actually sponsor that Toronto trip.

i find that those that do as much as they can to collaborate with new potential clients are the ones that deliver the best experiences.

Wish that they would keep their over- generalizations, blanket statements and holier-than-thou attitudes to themselves .
