My photos were of the same building, but no, this is probably the new Bangla Boxing Stadium with bars on ground floor. I think new tiger will be next door. The bars in front went for 1.5m for 4 years, a guy I know bought one and will open in few months.

Going to be hard as hell to make those work for a year or two.. Town is moving and expanding but being out on the edge isnt a place to get much foot traffic.

I was havinga look at the pics and thought that it was great that they actually put in Fire Escapes in a new building in Patong!!!!
Then had another look and those stairs are only between the top 2 floors!!!
The more it changes........ the more it stays the same!!!

Surely businesses in Nanai will suffer once the new road is completed all the way through Patong behind Jungceylon. Nanai will lose a lot of through traffic.

That through traffic is exactly that tho.. Karon to Kathu drivers and a pure pain in the **** IMO.

Its not like they drive along and go "Oh that looks like a nice laundry / massage / restaurant.. I'll just park in this convenient parking spot and walk on in there".. The road will be far easier to navigate and actually get to the businesses that are there IMO.

You've the Tiger like place that is actually Tiger. The Tiger like place at the end of Soi Jintana that is actually just eating places from what I can see, not been in and the bloke who makes Tigers in breeze block has been employed on this one by the looks of it!

The one on the left looks like a Lion so it could be another Soi Sea Lion that sells Tiger or summink! h:

I must admit that it does look better built and more substantial than the rest of Bangla. It similar to the work done above Tiger with its white steel work.

I have heard the rumours that squarehead Thaksin put money into this and the area aroung Jungceylon but not sure how much truth is in that.

Whilst I am not a big fan of Jungceylon it is good for trade especailly the big cruise ships- those guys spend a few $$$$$$ and the carrefour is great as I dont have to go to Tesco Lotus now

so any way you slice it; it's progress.

Expat Bar Owner on San Sabai was talking about it the other night and he seems to think the Boxing is going in up stairs and the Tiger bars moving underneath.

I think the whole project is nonsense, Bangla Road with all the Sois there will always be Bangla Road. First the attempt of this ridiculous bars on Soi Sansabai opposite Bangkok Residence and now this. These guys have more money then sense I think and now this monster project!? I might be wrong but I think it will not work. Would you move Big Ben to Dover or the Eiffel Tower to Nizza? So many times there where rumors to "move" the entertainment area somewhere else, and it never happened. Look at Soi Sukhumvit, Soi Sea Pearl, Soi Dontang, they are empty. Isnt it all about location, location, location... this is not the right location I believe.

There seems little appreciation that the more bars there are for the same finite drinkers only spreads the bar profits out.. But hey they build them and lease them, not run them.. Why should they care ??
