Just finished clinic with questions

Hey guys, Just finished clinic yesterday, It was a wonderful ending, however it was difficult. My last 3 clients all tried to make appointment with me next week only to find out that I was done. It kinda made me sad, I like working with them.

My questions mainly is what now? Only class left is Neuromuscular therapy and National Review class. The other people in my class said they all have lots of clients lined up for them ready when they get their license and they all have places to work(School is over in 2months). Am I supposed to have all of this figured out right now? I don't mean to sound egotistical but the majority of my clients are all repeats and referrals from instructors(they all love my work) and they all talk about how wonderful my career will be etc. Yet "i'm" the one with nothing in sight as of now.

I haven't been working during the whole time at school(7 months) because I'm concentrating on that full time. But now that there are things coming up that I'd like to have money for, would it be unrealistic to just get a PT job now and when I get my license to work at that PT too? I'm just so worried and not sure where my life is heading now that I've almost reached the end of the tunnel(school).

Any thoughts or inputs is nice.

Shortly before I finished school, I rented an office from another therapist one day a week. I offered free sessions to my practice clients. I found these clients from my previous job, not through my school. In school, we just worked on each other, no clinic. After I got my license, most of my practice clients turned into paying clients.

I continued working part time while I grew by business. I started with one or two clients a week. It took about two years to become established. I was often very nervous due to a slow week. For me, it went in cycles. I breathe easier nowadays.

Am I supposed to have all of this figured out right now?

No. Just because others do doesn't mean you have to as well. It might even take you a few tries in different settings to really decide what you want to do. It doesn't sound like you'll have a problem retaining clients once you get them. Hopefully you've learned some good marketing techniques to attract people, and try asking your school if they would be willing to give out your contact information to clients who come in requesting you. That's what we do with our students as long as they're not trying to solicit the school's clients (reasoning that the school paid money in advertising to gain those clients and students taking those clients and soliciting their planned business while in clinic is unethical.)
It is definitely not unreasonable to work part-time at something with a guaranteed paycheck while you build up your practice, as it might take a little bit of time to get enough consistent clients to pay the bills. It actually sounds like you have a good idea of what you might want to do, you just have to be confident, go for it, and don't get discouraged if things don't work out right out of the gate.

When I was in school, I did as you have done: focused on getting the most I could out of classes and clinic hours. I thought I knew what I wanted to do, but upon graduating quickly learned that it was NOT for me. What I realized is that I still wanted to stay focused on just improving as a therapist without the hassles of running my own practice. So I looked around, got a job that seemed like a good fit, and went to work for someone else. That experience was invaluable because I got my hands on lots of people and honed my skills as an MT before trying to run a massage business of my own.

Don't worry too much about not having everything figured out just yet. You have no idea what opportunities will present themselves, and you have not yet pigeonholed yourself into a course of action that might prevent you from taking advaneforum.xxxe of them.
