1st off, you guys are alright & I appreciate the information you give that helps make sure we have a good time when we go. I’ll be making my 1st trip to TJ in 3 wks and I will be on guard because of the tips I have seen on this board. I understand the chances are low that I will have problems but it is good to know the threat exists.

2nd, There’s threats you have to face anyplace you go nowadays, stupid shit can happen anywhere. I went to NYC to visit family last Christmas and ended up in a knock out drag out at a gas station with an African over nothing. I pulled into a gas station and this guy was looking at me crazy, got out and he’s still looking, pump my gas and he’s still locked on with this crazy hateful glare. I start looking back at him and he asks me in this heavy accent “you got a problem” I tell him I wouldn’t know because you’re looking at me like I fucked your mother or something. Next thing you know he’s charging, my two teen boys jump out the car and we’re whipping his ass. By the way, I'm African American so I don't want to hear no shit about being racist, this guy was straight up just off the boat African.

The point is strange shit can happen anywhere you go when you least expect it, I appreciate the warnings so I can be on guard, not get too drunk and watch my own back. However, we can’t let stupid shit rule our lives or we may as well stay home because nowhere on the planet is 100% safe

There is nothing wrong reporting what you did in your first post. Where I start to object is reading the reaction from other sites of the same posts, where guys go into hysterics about it and go on and on how dangerous TJ is and here is proof this article, and then you get stupid posts like I mentioned earlier about getting into James Bond like road rage trying to evade kidnappers trying to ram their car, and it usually ends with someone saying, Goddamn Tijuana, that's why it's a 3rd world country!

The only thing I do is put things in perspective in essence slapping guys faces online, and saying snap out of it dumbshit you have virtually no chance of getting kidnapped in TJ.( again I'm not talking to Jaremy but rather the guys that get hysterical over such articles and then go on to discuss ways how to avoid being kidnapped in TJ, when you know they have no money to begin with)

Sure TJ cops probably rape white women from America, but if your going to go back four years I could probably come up with a few articles about US cops raping women too, especially prostitutes. But what I wouldn't be able to find is the same article getting rehashed all the time like SignsOnSanDiego does and other San Diego papers. I don't know how many times I have seen that same incident rape about that women, and her husband and her nine year old son. I bet there must be at least 10 newspapers about the same incident happening all the time, yet this incident is alleged to have happened in 2003, yet we still hear about it in 2008, and the incident is written in a way that makes it seem like it just happened and it's a new story, when it's not. I wonder why the TJ cops haven't raped any new white women lately this way we don't have to hear about rehashed old stories all the time?

Where is Buckets bar on Revolution? Four cops handcuffed her to the bad and took turns on her, over a bill dispute! Hell, I would have just paid the high bill or bribed the cops.....anything to stop them from handcuffing me to a bed and raping me. Again getting raped by TJ cops doesn't effect mongers, but it makes interesting reading. But yes, getting shaken down by TJ cops involve mongers.

So again getting kidnapped, raped, or involved in a drug lord shoot outs will probably never effect a typical mongers who visits TJ to engage in sex with a Mexican hookers. However, I understand reading about sensationalizing crime stories are fun.

But me I rather talk about possible crimes that can happen to a typical mongers visiting TJ.

However, to entirely dismiss dangers there is a little naive. Bad things do happen to people down there, and it's largely the result of organized crime or the police, which are often one in the same. TJ is not a "safe" city, it's probably not an overly dangerous one either. But there is a war going on south of the border between the government and the narcoterrorist types, and the line between the two can be blurred. My point on my first post is to simply be aware of this and take it into consideration.

Ok Fireballs makes a very convincing argument about their being no danger, supported by Killit. Cant argue with facts and statistics, sometimes I think FB is a criminal defense attorney on the side ! So it is like this. Bohemian, Jermey, Poohche think the kidnappings should be something of minor concern, whereas Fireballs, ably supported by Killit and Ninguno think otherwise ! anyone want to join the fray ?

You have a higher chance of winning the lottery then being kidnap in TJ.Most of the people that are being kidnaped are from are side of the borader being brought back across to TJ.{eastlake,otay ranch,and other place that was name on I think channel 8 news for alot of mexican business man being kidnappings in those areas.} So for me I am the daredevil.{Not worried at all.}

Here is what Fireballs is saying. Go ahead and be concerned about being kidnapped in TJ if you want as anything is possible. But if you ask me, you have more of a chance getting hit by lightning than getting kidnapped. I'm sorry to say kidnapped just don't want poor mongers with $50 dollars left in their pocket.

I also say that SignonSanDiego is a rag that is always late with stories and when they print something about TJ it's usually to scare the masses.

On another site someone posted the same exact thing and of course it has many guys really concerned thinking OH MY GOD am I next! Then they have other guys who sometimes post here giving defensive driving tips saying never stop for other cars even if it's a cops car, and be prepared to play demolition derby with the possible kidnappers if they ram you then you ram them back!

Are Fireballs and the like saying there is not really a problem or its so insignifcant that it cannot be considered a danger. For arguments purpose lets use the visit to TJ cover mongering or otherwise. So are the Fireballs saying there is absolutely no problem. ? Or are we saying there is some potential problem howeever rare it might be.? So we need to be cognizant of the fact and be aware. That reminds me, think of the Chinese and Indians, most of these guys are so damn rich, they buy a Mercedes for their kids in pure simple cash ! Kidnapping is like all other things in mongering go home smelling of pussy and lipstick all over your shirt, don't wonder how you got caught. I have a friend who owns several businesses in TJ and his advice to me was simple, don't look like you need to be kidnapped. Don't go to expensive restaurants, dont wear alot of bling and for godsake don't make it rain or appear you have the ability to make it rain. Don't carry large sums of money on you. take what you need and hide some extra on you somewhere. this will also prevent you from being police napped. "Get Drunk you also get stupid" vere towards lo profile instead of "Ugly stinking rich American". Travel with a friend, if not cab in all directions.

You know I always think it's good to read the news to find out what people are saying. But really when I go to Tijuana getting kidnapped is probably the last thing on my mind as I bet the average mongers has more of a chance of getting hit my lightening than getting kidnapped as I know the kidnappers are going to be sorely disappointed when they find out the monger they are kidnapping doesn't have any money or the mongers family tells the kidnappers, go ahead and do what you wish, because we aren't going to give you any money!

In my opinion 'SignonSanDiego is just a RAG, and part of the ultra conservative San Diego Union-Tribune, but tries to be more liberal, but fails and just ends up sensationalizing the news. Other criticism of the paper, is they just hash old three week old stories as new, and I believe the same thing is going on here, as this is old news?

What is unclear from the stories is where the kidnapping are talking place? The story seems to suggest the kidnappings are only taking place south of the border? But according to other recent stories some of the kidnappings were happening right in San Diego, and not just Tijuana and Baja California. It was also reported that the people that were being kidnapped were cash rich criminals like drug dealers and Mexican smugglers who smuggler undocumented Mexicans into the US. ( people like this are less likely to go to the FBI or the police and tell them they were kidnapped.)

Now I'm sure that some legitimate Mexican business owners have been targeted as possible kidnap victims because they are cash rich, and for those guys I really feel sorry and bad for them.

You know who I don't feel bad for? It's the CEOs and Senior Management from the US or places like Japan that runs the Maquiladoras in Tijuana and offer slave wages for their workers. It seems many of those kidnappings are inside jobs of workers getting back at management, so I view these kidnappings are work place problems and have no real sympathy for these CEOs, as they have no sympathy for the workers, besides if their company is providing them with kidnap insurance it just makes the problem worst IMHO.

But really kidnapping is one of the last things anybody should be worried about if they are just going to Tijuana to monger unless your a rich business owner, Coyote, or involved in illegal drugs perhaps working for some Tijuana Drug lord?
