Lafuma chair advice

Hi all!

I have seen various posts including info on Lafuma recliners, but can't find the answer I'm looking for so hope you don't mind me asking for a bit if advice!

I am just about to start case studies and bought a Lafuma recliner as it seems pretty portable and comfy for visiting clients. My question is about towels, couch roll etc. At college we practice reflexology on massage tables and per VTCT requirmements set them up with blanket, towels, couch roll over towel, pillow covered by towels, footroll covered by towels (I'm sure you can picture it...)

Anyway, when going mobile with the Lafuma, how do you set up your recliner? Do you still have a blanket, with towel on top, then couch roll etc, plus foot support or pillow for feet? Do you just use a Lafuma cover, then do you change it for another before next client? Or a cover and towel which is changed for each visit? Might seem a silly question, but I want to stay on the right side of hygiene requirements while not havinga hefty laundry bill, plus the amount of stuff you have to take into people's houses!

Any advice on these practical aspects will be greatly appreciated,

I use a lafuma chair with a couple of standard size fleece blankets (lovely purple ones £1 each from a Pound Shop) draped over toprotect the fabric and the padded arms. I've seen some people using lovely ethnic throws to cover their chairs too. I then use a strip of couch roll to protect the blankets. At the foot end I use a pillow with a towel and a square of couch roll over the top. The result is cosy and easy to keep clean.

Hi Sarah,

When mobile with the Lafuma chair, or when using it at MBS shows, I simply use a pillow at the foot end for support which has an easy-wash non iron cover on it topped with a towel, I then have two towels resting on top - one for each foot.
If treating consecutive clients I use a piece of couch roll over the head rest, otherwise just wipe over when I get home.

If the room I am doing the treatment in is cool then I have a couple of fleece blankets on hand to keep the client cosy.

Works fine for me and had no adverse feedback from clients.

I've just received my lafuma chair today and I was going to use towels to cover the chair, not quite sure exactly how, but I am giving my husband a treatment so I can take my time and have a play. It will be interesting as my husband is 6ft so his feet might hang over the end. But I am going to take calmer's suggestions on board and see what works best.

I have actually used a couch cover without a face hole to cover my chair.and i have used the head rest as a foot support by slipping it over the end. Then i place a towel over it and and cover with couch roll. I then use a towel covered with couch roll for the head.

Hi all

I put a large towel over mine before the client lies on it. I stick to a colour scheme lemons and creams. It is quite calming. I then put a warm fleece blanket over the client bought from a very well known shop that sells furniture/piccies/etc!! I bought them for £2.49 each !! I then put my stool at the foot of the couch and put a roll pillow (£6 from this well known European named shop!) on my lap to support the metal bar on my lap and a pillow under the clients feet and use 2 small towels - one for covering the feet and the other to go ontop of the pillow to protect the pillowcase from spills of oils, creams etc.

I wash my towels after each treatment. Hygiene is important. I usually keep the same towel that they lie on for each client. So if a person is having six treatments - as they are at the moment for my case studies then I will save that towel for them. I just roll it into a sausage shape and I know it is for them. I have also bought a storage unit in cream - it has 2 shelves and some holes in the top to put oils and creams inside. This was from that very well known european shop too bought for £9. Bargain. You don't need to go expensive you can find bargains out there.
