MILFORD -- Four massage parlors here were closed Monday after a visit by health inspectors, accompanied by city and state police.
Ginko Beauty Spa 554 Boston Post Road; Body Relax Palace, 365 New Have Ave.; Kung-Fu Massage, 1201 Boston Post Road and Great Massag,e 365 Boston Post Road were all found to have several violations and were closed.
Merritt Massage, 465 Bridgeport Ave., had minor violations but remains open.The VIP Spa was closed for business, and a representative told police that the the business has been closed for about two weeks, said Lt. Vaughan Dumas.
Monday's compliance inspection was a follow-up to visits made in June to local massage parlors, when owners were given a letter from Chief Keith Mello and a copy of the state law governing massage parlors and massage therapists, Dumas said.
"This operation is ongoing,'' the department spokesman said.
