SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics is set to release its latest massage chair, the LG Healing Me Objet Collection ArteUP, on January 24, incorporating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features and subscription options. The chair is designed to combine high-tech functionality with furniture aesthetics.
The ArteUP features a lounge chair design and utilizes six-directional massage balls capable of kneading, acupressure, tapping, rolling, and blended motions. It introduces new AI-driven and wellness-focused massage programs, including a Sleep Care Course and a Mind Care Course.
The AI Course analyzes the user’s preferred massage settings, such as intensity and routine, based on previous usage patterns, delivering a tailored experience without the need for manual adjustments.
Meanwhile, the Mind Care and Sleep Care courses include brainwave-calming sounds to reduce stress and improve sleep quality, catering to customers dealing with insomnia or high stress levels.
Engineered for quiet operation at around 35 decibels — akin to a library whisper — the ArteUP ensures users can relax even at night. Customers can also choose subscription plans ranging from three to six years, with the chair priced at 3.29 million won ($2,450).
A six-year subscription plan costs 49,900 won ($37) per month, which includes free maintenance services, leather and cushion replacement in the third year, and complimentary cleaning throughout the subscription.
According to Frost & Sullivan, South Korea’s massage chair market was valued at approximately 1 trillion won ($750 million) in 2022. LG has seen over 20% sales growth in this category year-over-year, driven by its diverse lineup, which includes full-body and furniture-style models.
“The ArteUP provides personalized relaxation through AI-driven massage programs and subscription-based ownership, offering a new and convenient customer experience,” said Jeong Kwang-woo, Head of Living Solution Marketing at LG Electronics Korea Sales Division.
LG aims to solidify its leadership in the growing wellness technology market with innovative products tailored to modern lifestyles.
