KUCHING, Dec 16: A local man was fined RM3,000 by the Magistrate’s Court here for intentionally damaging his father’s massage machine, causing a loss of RM600. Failure to pay the fine will result in a six-month jail sentence.
The accused, Liu Jin Peng, 32, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Alwi.
The offence occurred at a house on Jalan Penrissen around 10am on December 11.
According to the case facts, the complainant, the accused’s father, discovered his son consuming drugs in the kitchen. The house was reportedly in a disarray, with belongings scattered across the floor.
Disappointed, the father confronted his son, reminding him of a previous promise to stop using drugs. However, the accused remained silent and stared at him angrily.
Later, the complainant found his Ogawa machine damaged in his bedroom. Fearing his son might turn aggressive, he lodged a police report, leading to the accused’s arrest on December 12.
Investigations confirmed the accused had deliberately caused the damage, resulting in an RM600 loss.
The case was prosecuted by ASP Arman Ibrahim, while the accused was unrepresented. –DayakDaily
