Sometimes having a spa you enjoy visiting in your neighbourhood is a two edged sword. It's great having them close by, but sometimes you just can't walk past without stopping in to say hi. Or a little more!
Another Sunday, I was due at a farewell party for a friend, but had to pass Wendy's on the way up Yonge. Look at my watch, already a few hours late, so what's another one? Right?
I have seen a few of the ladies here now, but it was my first time meeting Mabel. Attractive, probably in her 30's and very friendly and easy to get along with. One of the things I enjoy about this place is the consistency- the staff is always friendly and the rooms are very clean.
She checked to see what type of massage I liked, hard or soft, and then once she started, asked again to be certain it was what I wanted. Apparently she had professional training before joining Wendy's, and I was happy to be the recipient of that skill. The stronger the better is what I feel when it comes to my back and shoulders and she was up to the task.
After loosening up the muscles, she covered me with a large towel and used her knees on my thighs and back. More attendants are doing it these days and I find they are able to apply more pressure to the places I need looked after. I'm sure if this is not your cup of tea, she could just as easily continue with the regular massage for the entire session. I enjoyed the conversation with her, and she apologized for having to turn the heat down a touch as she was working quite hard to get my muscles in shape.
After the rigorous massage, the gentle karate chop massage for a minute to get the blood circulating,(who hasn't been tempted to yodel when they do that?) and then a few minutes of light sensual massage. Soon I was heading to my party, late but in much better spirits than before stopping by.
I plan on repeating but still haven't met all the ladies yet. Looks like I could be standing up a few friends in the near future if I have to venture past Wendy's again. Well worth the visit!
