Mario Balotelli's post-match massage was interrupted as a reporter handed the Nice new boy his Man of the Match award before asking him to speak French.

Balotelli's fresh start in the south of France began in style as he scored twice to inspire new club Nice to a 3-2 victory over Marseille on Sunday.

And as Balotelli was basking in his debut double inside the Allianz Riviera home changing room, French sports broadcaster Canal+ produced a bizarre post-match interview with the 26-year-old.

While receiving a relaxing post-match rub-down, the 33-capped Italy international was accosted by an enthusiastic reporter pestering him excitedly in French, leaving Balotelli looking bemused.

Eventually switching to English to attempt a conversation, the reporter said: 'Two goals for your first match - fantastic?' to which Balotelli replied: 'Thank you,' before hiding his face.


Not satisfied with the striker's responses, the reporter then urged Balotelli to speak French, by saying: 'Un more? You speak French? Speak French.'

The irritated former Manchester City and Liverpool man then responded: 'I am very content but now, massage,' before giving a nonchalant wave to camera and turning away.

Balotelli has already equalled his goal tally for his catastrophic career at Liverpool – a move he claims was 'the worst decision of my life'.

The mercurial hitman was a man on a mission against Marseille, scoring a penalty in the seventh minute to put his side ahead before netting a late header with 12 minutes remaining, to drag Lucien Favre's team back into the tie.
