Caroline Van Vlardigan or however you spell her name is doing a news report entitled Dirty Little Secrets. It will analyze the sex trade occurring in massage parlours. I think they're focusing on young girls (under 18). I can't say that I've ever read any comments here by anyone here over the last several years participating in this sort of thing. Obviously it's very wrong.
I suspect LE may be heightened as a result of this.

Stick to milfs....they're better and safer.....

I agree. I was thinking the same thing. Most definitely hightened LE for a while. I myself do not ever remember seeing anyone in the business so young (not my preference anyhow). The TV ad from Caroline V stated as young as 13!!!!

Typical media hypocrisy: They claim to be shocked and disgusted, they claim they are acting in the public interest...when really they are EXPLOITING the issue for ratings. Happens all the time with newspapers, tv, radio, the web, books, speeches, political campaigns.

This doesn't make sense to me. I mean, 16 or 17 and they are "off the boat" and claim they are 18 so nobody knows their true age? Yeah I could see that. But 13? You would be able to tell. Can you imagine walking into an massage parlor and you notice one of the girls is 13? I think (hope?) most people would run out and call the cops, even if anonymously from a payphone.

If this is true it has to be a special parlor not open to the public that doesn't advertise, or something like that (if you catch my drift). And then it's not really an indictment of the montreal massage scene.

Regarding the BC CTV story: If an insurance company is going to pay for acupuncture, it may as well cover hand jobs too. Why are the CTV news people so intent on squashing massage parlors. Oh, to protect the women! Was there some outcry from those working at those parlours?

I'm curious to see how CTV Montreal covers this. I'm sure it will be with a combination of moral self-righteousness and titillation. Hopefully the media interest will fade quickly.

CTV are hypocrites to the Nth Degree. Rick Dini of CTV Toronto operated an escort agency while employed full-time by the network. CTV Montreal put an even bigger blowhard, Mike Bossy, on the air, even though he failed in his fiduciary responsibility while a Director of Mount Real Corporation thereby depriving needy seniors of their lifetime savings...a much bigger threat to our community than whether an old fart gets a handjob in a seedy massage parlour. Why doesn't Jed Kahane institute a community service and place Annie DeMelt or Catherine Sheriffs undercover in a massage parlour for a month???

I just saw the promo for the report that will air tomorrow. The promo suggested that organized crime is involved. The competition in massage is so fierce that there is little money to be made. The promo also mentioned that there were girls as young as 12 - 13 involved. I will not say that it is impossible with the way young girls look these days, but I would think that most salon owners would not need this sort of trouble and will check IDs. Let us see what type of BS they will fling when the report airs.

Bottom line folks, this will get top billing for a while. I am totally against juveniles working as MP's, it's sick and really worrisome and they should target these establishments and do what is necessary to get these kids out of this situation. Keep in mind though that LE could potentially target the majority of establishments out there to make sure they are thorough. But as anything else, these things are very politically driven. I think that taking some reflectors off of the city's and province's other hot topics like the construction industry and pending election call in a few months is more advantageous to politicians. It will need a scapegoat to make it look like they are cleaning up corruption in the city and to me, the easiest thing is to target massage parlours.

If you listen to the 3:00 clip on CTV News Montreal's site today, they say that police will go in if they have proof of a minor working at one and if not, then they will still exist because "massages" are perfectly legal.

So, if you ask me, these places will remain open.

My ONLY worry is being caught by a reporter, hidden camera or even investigator on camera when entering or leaving a location that I frequent.

I would say that the report is unfair as it paints a picture that most of the girls who work in massage parlors are exploited/ & or minors. I've been going to massage parlors for 30 years & never did I see girls working in a massage parlor that were minors or who were forced to work there. I believe in freedom of choice & if a woman chooses to make her living by performing happy ending massages it's nobody's business except hers. What goes on behind closed doors between consenting adults is also nobody's business & as long as no one is getting hurt, then there is no harm done...

Bottom line, it's a straight forward value for value transaction.. A man has his fantasy fulfilled & the masseuse gets money in return....

The sensationalism reported by Ms CVV, accounts for about 10% of the institutions offering these services. Like I say, MILF places are a safe bet, especially those protected by the Russian, Asian, or Italian mob. Don't worry, no LE will walk in, unless they are clients of these places. Some cops are on the pay roll. Advice: see a young girl (not a woman)? walk out....

Based on experience, gave an interview once years ago for CTV, they used less than 10% and 'on its own' my comment was taken out of context so they can make their point. CVV is grasping to keep her job. She's yesterday's reporter...the 1980s are long gone....she'll do this sort of stuff to show she's cutting edge.
