Wax - get a wax job. I have done my back and but many times and the pain is minimal and short lasting. Gets you smooth and clean. Never done the legs though, but I have used a trimmer to shorten the leg hairs. There is one asian lady on Bathurst that will wax what ever you want done, trim around your boys or wax and will help you leave feeling good with a smile on your face for $40

My personal opinion is this: DON'T SHAVE, TRIM.

Risking cuts and irretated folicles is asking for trouble. It's a recipie for infections in general, STIs in particular, and other fun stuff like ingrown hairs. Plus stubble is a pain for you and your partner(s).

Buy a decent set of grooming scissors, or an electric shaver with changable heads. You wand a good trim, but not enough to be prickely. (So you don't irretate you / your partner(s).) Personally I go for a #4 (1/2 Inch?) on my pubic patch and pits, and a #3 elsewhere. I just lightly skim as to not get in too close. Then I use a leave in conditioner, rinse, and apply moisturiser for that day. I do this once every few weeks. The hair stays soft, but looks 'neat', and avoids skin irretation, infection, and stubble.

WIth that being said, I don't have hair on my back, and I'm not a total 'bear', so YMMV.

Shave the boys, wax your back and butt (and your chest if you want) and trim the rest to about 1 - 2cm.

I just came back from seeing Jenny - turns out she lives about a 10 min walk from my place - and your description is quite accurate. I went for the back & shoulders/butt wax + 1/2 hr massage (she had someone else coming at 3:00 so couldn't fit in an hour). All in: $100 (30/30/40). Brazilian is also $30 - perhaps next time.
