MPA medical examinations.

With all the threads that fanren has put out on STDs, I have a question that comes to mind.

I heard that MPAs are supposed to have a Body Rub Licence of their own (separate from the MP BRL)

I was told that they need to go for regular medical examinations.

(If I am wrong, please correct me.)

How often is the medical exam?
How extensive is the examination? Do they check for STDs? If so which ones?

I know extensive medical exams should not be necessary for MPAs but it would be nice to know just in case.

In Toronto, many MPAs operate under holistic care licenses. I don't think the relevant bylaw says anything about medical exams.

Sexy V, I thank you for going through all that. I know that it's not nicest experience to go through but it does make the rest of us feel better.

Maybe they should start giving clients medical exams as well.

I'm not sure I understand entirely. What happens when an MPA is tested and deemed to be a diabetic, for example??

The Medical Certificate asks a doctor sign the certificate
indicating that the person is free of any communicable/
transmittable diseases.

Most of the cities medical certificates are more or less the
same. Different wording, but with the same objective. The
mpa should not have any diseases that can be transmitted.
Of course, this is vary vague. A common cold can be
transmitted. I think it is a good precaution and excellent
idea that the licensing offices introduced this licensing
standard. But yes, it is only once a year, at renewal, that
you must submit this form.

I think it's nice to have the medical check, for things that can be transmitted, like skin infections or lice, etc...But STD's? Let's face it, if you are participating in any activity that puts you at risk, it doesn't matter who is tested. Risk is risk.
