My trip to Ciudad Juarez

There is no such thing as safe when it comes to Juarez. Even thought there are 20 thousand troops over there last month was the bloodiest month of the week 240 people were killed. Even car jackers are killing people when they take the cars; I guess they want no witnesses. If you know someone in Juarez then stay with them and try not to go out, especially at night. Also they are starting to put up DWI check points all across the city, so allot of people are getting popped for DWI’s. It was calm in the beginning when the troops showed up but in the last couple of months it got bad again. People from El Paso are also getting caught in the crossfire. Last week the troops were caught in a gun fight with the cartels and one guy from El Paso who was visiting family got killed, and a 18 year old girl for El Paso had her thought slashed and was dumped in an intersection. If you are coming here for work do your work and get out of Juarez it is too unstable and you won’t be safe. If you are looking for action I would save my money and go somewhere else besides Mexico, it is too unstable, I am thinking of taking a trip to Rio.

I'm headed to El Paso in August and was wondering if anyone had info on Juarez and how safe it is now. I've recently been traveling in Mexico and find that things tend to be a little calmer in tourist areas more than others. I'm just worried that if I end up in Juarez without many friends, I may run into some trouble.

The last time I was in Juarez was five years ago and things were very calm and normal. If it looks like a trip into Juarez is not a good idea, then perhaps someone may have local advice on El Paso and where to find some good company.

Thank you for your comments. I wish that I have more friends like that who does not care about money just the friendship. In Mexico and many places who are in need of money it is very difficult to find friends who are not interesting in money. I have been lucky that I found some friends just for friendship. Thank you for your response. Let me tell you something about me first. My first language is Spanish but I have a completely diferent accent from mexican. I will contact you when I go to San Diego to get more details about where I can take my friends and where I can go when I go myself. Because the environment that my friends go it is completely diferent from my, example they do not go to SC, MP, etc. Can you explain what you mean by low key? I am sorry about my poor english.
Let me tell you a little bit about one of my Juarez friend. She speaks spanish only. Do you speak spanish? She drinks a lot but she is very nice and friendly. She is very liberal for example, she does not mind take me to ST or tables. I drive when she gets drunk. She is 38 years old and divorce. She is not scare of anything like me. Sometimes she takes me to places that look scare to me but not to her. Last time I was in Juarez she brought a friend with her one time. She did not mind doing in front of her friend. However I was shy because her friend was looking us. My friend looks much better than her friend. Her friend did not interfere just watched. She is like 4 feet and a half but with an excellent body. The most important part, in sex she is okay but not the best. She never asked me for money and I never gave her. She is a very good friend.

Yeah Wally. I am half mexican. There are way too many things you can do in Tijuana when you come. I always tell people to keep it low key. Especially Americans at this point in time in certain cities in Mexico, you know? However, just come and have a good time. PM me before you go and I will fill you in on some details. You or they can get in contact with me anytime. I have to go near Juarez for a little bit, but don't know anybody who likes to go out at night there. Maybe your friend can help me!

I am USA citizen. I live in the east. I am going to Puerto Rico, Georgia, Boston and San Diego, California. Sounds like you are the Tijuana expert. Are you mexican? I am going to Tijuana in couple months. I will do two trips to Tijuana. The first one I will go with a bunch of people(people from the meeting) from diferent parts of USA. I am the only one who speak spanish from the group. They love bars and music. Most of them are women. They are professionals with hight positions. Can you tell me a place or places where I can take them? My second trip I will try to escape just myself. Can you tell me places to go like SC or MP? Yes, I had a lot of fun in Juarez. I just came back from Juarez. I was most of the time with my two mexican friends. One of them has a car and she took me around. We went out three times during the night time which two of them I saw dead people on the street and the third one I was surround by the military police.
My friend drinks a lot and when this happen I drive because I do not drink alcohol. We left from a friend house around 5 in the morning and when she was taking me to my hotel I saw two people cover with a white blanket on the street. Eventhought my friend is mexican and she told me that she will protect me I was scared. A similar situation happen the second time that we went out. The third time my friend got so drunk that I could not wake her up. I do not know Juarez so I always depend of her for directions. So I asked her if she wants something to eat and we decide to stop to get some tacos. As soon I got out of the car and order the tacos a man past running in front of me. After him another man was follow him and in seconds the militarity people was surrounding the area. I was really scared because I was in the middle, surrounding, plus my friend was completely drunk inside the car. I wanted to leave but I did want to leave the car with my friend inside. I walked slow to them and tell them if I can leave because my friend was inside the car and she was sleepy. I was afraid that they will notice my accent. The guy talk to his superior and thank to God they let me go. I waked my friend up and she gave me directions to get to my hotel. She thanked me and gave me couple hours of sex to compesate the scary moment and from protecting her. My friend eventhought she is a women she did not get scared like me.

My second friend is completely diferent from my first friend. She does not go out during the night and she treated me like I was her husband. I can not look another girl when I am with her because she gets mad. We had lunch together during the day and we spent the night in my hotel room. We went dancing but during the day. We were planning to go dancing one time in a local bar but a bar close to that were fired because the owner did not pay the quote for protection. This happen at 10:30 in the morning.

I met a lady in a seafood restaurant who told me that her husband past away three weeks ago. I called her two days later and asked her to go out with me. We went dancing and them to her house. She was talking about her husband the whole night. We danced and played pooled in her house. I did kissing nothing else. I did not try more probably because I am slow or I think I could not do more. She is like 7 in my personal opinion. She is 32 years old and 6' 2" tall which bother me a little because I am 42 and 5'6" tall. She drinks a lot but she never look drunk. I was in her house until 6 in the morning and them she took me to my hotel room. I always wonder what would happen if i would ask for sex. It is too late know.

In general there are too much violence in Cd Juarez like many people mentioned or posted before. I met a new freind. My first friend took me to diferent places including Strip clubs. I visited a MP called sirenas. The food still excellent in Juarez at a good price. Cd Juarez is a excellent city but the violence is out of control. This make people feel afraid including me. Eventhought the scary moments I had a good time.
