New Place 1 block east of adelitas

Ok, it's been 2 weeks and 1 day, here's my report:

La Tropa / Camponeta is a hellhole. Actually, the place looks nice enough, decent architecture, didn't look sleazy or dirty or anything, but all the girls inside were straight up NASTY... and not that good kind of nasty either.

Place wasn't too packed, and as I assumed it is similar to the Mermaids setup in that there is a bar, and then a massage joint next door, though this one happens to have a different name..

The cool sounding part of it though, was that they have jacuzzis. They don't got THAT at Mermaids. The guy pitching it on the corner says $130 you get jacuzi, FS, massage, etc. I wouldn't go with the girls I saw though.

A year or two back though, a cab driver took me and a buddy to a massage place on the outskirts of town that likewise had jacuzzis. Chicks were WAY better, and I think price was like $40 per 1/2 hour for jacuzzi massage. FS the chick wanted something like $100 or something,so I bailed. Friend got a HJ for $20+$60 massage or something like that. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me though. Sorry.

Oh well, let me know if there is any other places you guys want me to scout on my next trip, since I'm adventurous like that.

Mermaids is (approximately) across from Adelitas. La Camponata is near La Tropa, where Revolucion and Coahila intersect.

At an MP the room costs $40.00. You pay extra for anything other than a straight massage. Full services is usually $80.00 to $120.00. The guys on the street always make it sound like you sex for $40.00--you don't.

Almost all the guys who speak English are deported felons. Be careful.

As others have stated, talking to one of these guys is a good way to get a patdown by the cops. Most sell drugs and the cops think you're buging drugs when they see you talking to them. Worse a few are partners with the some corrupt cops. They'll set you up by saying you were asking to buy drugs or drop drugs on the ground in front of your feet as the cops approaches. Stay away from them.

I've been to most of the bars in the area, but you need to help me picture it.
I.e., across the street, 2 doors down, etc etc.

The $40 massage place though sounds like the one across the street from Adelitas, which I thought was called mermaids.

If so, it's pretty good there. Maybe only like 8 girls, but 2-3 are pretty good. Last time I was there, there was this weird Uma Thurman looking chick everybody was digging. These girls dance at the strip club to the right of the massage entrance, so if you want a preview, just go in there.

As for adventuring into new bars, it's no big deal. Use my trick: walk in and use the bathroom. If it looked crappy on the way in, walk right out. None of the places I have been to have cover charges or anything (save Hong Kong..which really isn't even worth it sometimes). If you really feel bad, have one beer and bail.

Sundays are great! Sure the selection isn't as large, but there are a lot fewer guys down there.

I have visited a few clubs east of AB. First let me explain that I am a larger, Brown skinned Mexican guy who speaks fluent spanish, So I have NEVER been hasseled by anyone in TJ in the 13 years I've been going down there.
Of all the clubs east of AB, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
Of all that I've entered, and I've been in all of them, none could hold a candle to AB, CC or HK.

Here is my rule of thumb.
If I run into a local mexican guy who speaks fluent english, there's got to be something fishy. All of those guys trying to get you to a massage place should be ignored and keep walking. It's either a rip-off or could be some kind of set up to get you in trouble with the world renowned organization called TJ policia.

Guy, a few years back I was one of those fellows who stopped and talked with a grungy guy on the corner trying to get me to go for massage package and then tried to sell viagra. And yes, the cops stopped me a few minutes later and searched me well and asked all kinds of questions thinking I had bought drugs from the fucker.
Luckily I had bought nothing and politely answered all the questions. They let me go with a warning and did not take a dime even though I probably had a few hundy in the wallet.
Being a gringo stopped by TJ police is not a fun experience (even when you have done NOTHING). So please, do what I have done now. Read the board, stay in the zone, take a FUCKING CAB, fuck guys, ITS ONLY $5. Considering I normally spend a good $150 each time I go there, why do you cheap bastards continue to walk just to save $5, I dont get it. And lastly, dont get drunk off your ass either. Your there to nail hot chicas at a cheap price or you wouldnt be on this board. Getting shitfaced, stumbling drunk is an open invitation for someone to rob you, fuck with you or get yourself arrested. And thats just from the cops, not the real bad guys.

There's a scroungy lookin' guy that hangs around that corner that tries to send people to La Tropa and I've heard him mention massages.
I'd say stay away from him and don't even acknowledge him.
The policia watch for gringos talking to guys like that and will stop you and search you and at least give you a raft of shit about buying drugs, etc.
Just keep walkin'.

Has anyone tried a place (in a hotel) 1 block east of adelita on (or near) the corner of revolution. There is a guy who stands on the corner near adelita and tries to get people to go there. It is in a hotel and he promises a nude massage for 1 hour for $40 plus an extra amount for extras. I probably won't go there unless I can read a review first, because adelitas and the alley treat me pretty damn good most of the time.
