Newbie Trip Report, chapter 2

Well,

All i can say, is still learning from my mistakes, if you really want to, there is no end to how much you can strategise to find the perfect girlie.

So, last few days have consisted of waking up abt 2-3pm, breakfast at BYD (pretty much all you can eat for 250bht, pricey but very good imported ingredients) or Savoeys (beachfront), then soak up the beach a little, reading, running etc before getting an afternoon coffee and puffing a few cigarettes. Also spent last few days getting a few shirts made from Gullitinos (i think the soi after Bangla, beach rd end), indian guy in there seems to know what he was doing, and quite impressed with the results for 900bht a pop.

Generally have started the evenings about 10, met up with other BM's for dinner (if you turn down road where Tiger is, at end is whole little compound full of great seafood places, had awesome spicy red snapper the other day for abt 220bht, although left me sh*tting chillies. Usually start at one of beer bars, MTB or one bars on other Soi's. Nikke and co have been so welcoming, and love the home-made Fishermans' Friend liquer that he serves up! Was a few girls i thought abt bar-fining, but i find that after bar-fining one girl from a bar, can limit your chances of going with another girl at same bar because of their own internal politics.

My favourites for girls are generally Soi Easy, Soi Eric and Soi Crocodile. Until a few nights ago, didnt actually think Crocodile had anything other than Ladyboy's, but saw a few hotties there with SeanCally, and also worryingly a lady that after investigation turned out to be a boy. Id like to think im pretty good at the ladyboy maths, but must admit there are a few that I have been totally oblivious too, that does make me slightly worried. Haven't checked out the bars at beach end side of Bangla, to be honest they look a little tacky and didnt see anything i liked really.The bar i talked about on Rat-u-thi, is called Joe Nuts, top of bangla, turn left. Some really nice girls in here, and cheaper rates.

Most of nights have invariably revolved around Tiger bar (not disco), as have been a few girls that I have been in pursuit ofl, and i stand by the fact that quality of girls is higher. Many bars within Tiger with great girls, but one of my favs is Puma bar (where i met girl on first night), and also Waikiki bar in right hand-corner, run by friendly Italian guy. Also the bar further in from Waikiki has some great, albeit young looking girls. One thing ive learnt is that girls know they can play you if you say you're only here for a week or so. I think best to just avoid the subject, or say you're here for a month or so. Seems to generate much more interest. Also, sounds quite obvious, but really is no point chasing a girl that isnt reciprocating, have learnt this the hard way again after taking gorgeous girl (and her friend) for pizza after she finished work at Tiger, perhaps my fault for not being clearer abt the endgame, but to cut long story short, after spending abt 1000bht on food/drink she left me high and dry at 4.30am as her friend didnt "know the way home". Have to laught abt it now, took my motorbike for quick spin down Bangla afterwards, but was pretty slim pickings!!

agree with u about tiger bar, always start the nite in there and plan to get out by 1.00 and have a look around other sois, but b4 u know it it is 3 am and time to head home

Been really busy since I got back to London, anyhow thought id finish off the above trip report, while its fresh in my mind.

So, as I was saying, nights tended to revolve around Tiger bar, and as i said, found some lovely girls from there, one of which i ended up taking with me to Bangkok for a few days. As for discos, there are slim pickings, the biggest and most obvious place to go is to Tiger Disco (i.e. above Tiger bar), its full of farangs, but also tourists and backpackers. Most of the thai girls there are for pay to play, but not ALL of them, i did have a bit of an embarrasing moment where i tried to beckon over a young girl, only to see her thai boyfriend looking over her shoulder with a mean look. Bottom line, probably better to get eye contact or to have been approached before you can assume its p2p.

Took home two FL's from Tiger Disco, if im honest, quality not up to girls in some of the beer bars, although depends on day/time you go. I met more than one girl that worked at massage shops during the day, and topped up their income with night shifts at the discos (also means that girls at massage shops are more open-minded than you'd think). Of the girls i took home, paid in range of 1000-2000bht, but not unheard of to pay more, very case specific i guess. One of the girls i took home was a little persistent and came to my hotel not one but two times in following few days asking to see me, maybe i should have been clearer and showed her my butterfly badge.

Of the other bars, had some really good times in Tai Pan, its much smaller, but some stunners in there, i thought music was generally better than Tiger Disco (quite a range of electronic music, hip hop and also thai pop). I only took home one girl from Tai Pan, and not out of choice, she was there with her friend, and although she was cute i had zero interest as a) she spoke no english and b) she was pretty drunk. Anyhow, her friend ended up leaving her there to go with customer and she seemed pretty upset, she was also planning to drive home on her scooter (she couldnt walk straight). My heart went out to her so i took her home with me, turned out she had only just arrived to Phuket, and was her first night in a bar. Took her home, got her showerd and forced her to drink water and told her it was ok to just go to sleep. She was so amazed at my sincerity that it seemed to just turn her on even more and despite my insistence, she wanted to earn her keep. Anyhow, i guess this whole experience opened me up to the vulnerability of some of the bar girls.

Of the other discos, never went to Banana, but heard that because girls have to pay entrance fee, p2p generally more expensive, also heard more a tourist crowd and very European. Clublime, the new big disco on beach road looked quite swanky, but pretty empty when i went, also closes quite early (1.30?) Swedish owner, fairly new and well advertised, so maybe could become the new Tiger Disco (i hear its closing soon?).

On another note, went to La Salsa, its the bar attached to the Impiana, very good cocktails, and live music there most nights, also air-con so great place to go at some point in a night to just cool down and soak up the music. Also lots of hot farang when i was there!

Will post again soon abt Bangkok. Still rather depressed at being back in the UK.

Funny, that you talk about puma bar.. because when me and my friends went in June.. my friend caught the eye of one of the puma bg's and we ended up starting the night their quite a few times... but good to hear you had a good time!

The BG's don't care if you butterfly at all, as long as the girls know that from the start, they don't like to be seen stealing each others potential boyfriends (sponsors, husbands).
